Why all the long passes on the final drive for Marist. They had plenty of time, but threw the ball deep over and over. Great game, poor ending.

The music is absolutely dreadful. It’s like a fever dream being trapped in the tiny back seat of teal Dodge Stealth in the Holy Cross parking lot in 1992. How do they even find these techno and heart throb songs???

Knee down first obviously, but yea…. Very very close. Great football play to end a great football game.

It was a fantastic game. Other than all the false starts, the actual football on the field was very well-played. Rooting for Montini, and was so nervous that Considine or #4 was going to break one eventually.

Tackling on both sides was great. 1st half took 36 minutes of real time. Great atmosphere with a drizzle starting during crunch time. To me, it lived up to all the hype.

Montini did flip the switch early on the fireworks at the end. I guess once they’re started, you just gotta wait for them to finish. I would’ve bet the house on Byron recovering the onside kick after that. Karma was tested, big time.

Probably Montini @ Princeton next Saturday.

Man how did I forget the roughing the kicker! I believe he missed it regardless. Tough penalty in that spot, but absolutely the right call.

They found something at the end of the second quarter. Montini got that one stop on 4th and 1. Other than that Byron was moving the ball at will. Considine had a bunch of carries to the right side but couldn’t break the long one. Montini safeties made some big plays.

Per my earlier post pre-game - I had LA a 3.5 point favorite. No way this was a second round match-up and a shame they had to meet each other this early in the playoffs and one of these teams had to go home. Perhaps a case for the old 1-16 seeding vs. 1-32 for 7A and 8A. All wins are not equal is my point. Anyways the gauntlet continues for Hollywood. Next up an old foe - that is well known to Hollywood and always presents a great match-up. I think it might be the first match up with Charlie at LA vs. MS? Not sure. Anyways - the Hawks are well seasoned and it seems the sophomore QB has hit his stride. Game will be at Hollywood next week so at least they are at home. Both teams need to focus on the game at hand. My view ( and no disrespect to the bottom half of the bracket) is the semi- final game in this bracket is the state championship. I believe the same for the bottom half of the 7A bracket. Great game by Marist and a great season. Give credit for the LA defense in the second half.

Couldn't agree more. Pre snap penalties killed them. The last Byron drive before half you could tell they found something in the Montini defense. To me the game came down to penalties and that big Montini run in the 2nd half otherwise I think Byron wins this game. What a great game it was to witness live.
