5A game updates

I don't understand how the Naz completion along their own sideline on their first drive was ruled a completion. There's no way the WR had possession before the JCA player knocked it lose.
Terrible call from the refs. I don’t think he was going to catch even if he wasn’t hit by the defender. Was obviously bobbling the ball.

Private Schools 7 - Public Schools 1. That’s a wrap!

The 5-0 reference was to private schools winning the first 5 title games at ISU and public schools winning 0.
You are obviously referring to the fact that after 5?games are played that private schools will have a 5-1 record.
Two things csn be true at the same time.
I guess I was merely pointing out that since Naz JCA had not started yet, and you were correctly calling it a win for the privates, I was just saying, we should give the 1 win for the publics.

Why York has a great chance to beat Loyola….

This thread is about York only scoring 7 against LT

Don’t forget that York only scores 7 points against LT
That question was asked because I thought the best athlete was the QB. Had I known they were talking about the ND commit, that question wouldn’t have been asked. It’s game day so time will tell. Good luck.

Althoff…

Althoff will get back to the old schedule soon. At the end of the Turner era, after ALL the talent left and no one would come ... oh, I have stories ... we had both Ritter and Vianny on the schedule. That Ritter team had LB3 and Vianny had Kyren Williams ...

We have our sea legs now. Austin was hired in May 2020 - this is the first full class under his watch.
This isn’t his first full class. A lot of moving parts but, well deserved. They are good enough to win 3a this year. Next year will be different. You know better than anyone that kids like Hill and Hickey are very hard to come by. You have to capitalize while they are there. This is what Althoff did. Congrats!

Here’s a comparison for contrast…

Oregon’s other RB commit in this class is Jordon Davison of Mater Dei California. Similar ranking to Hill depending on the service. Mater Dei arguably top HS program in the country. This weekend he ran for 200 yards and 3 TDs in Cali playoffs against St John Basco. Basco has more than 20 players with D1 offers that Davison would be competing against.

Which performance is more impressive? I have no clue - not going back to watch Mater Dei game. But I can tell you that Cali playoff game probably looked a heck of a lot closer to a college football level of competition. College staffs are comparing kids coming from such extremely different backgrounds so no way they can suddenly toss Hill generational money based upon 1 game vs Lena
You are talking about what's reasonable. These boosters and deep pocket collectives don't always operate like that. Just look what Ellison and Portnoy just did.

Schools aren't the only one doing the evaluation to hand out the money now.

No doubt he’s exceptional and he’s going to have a ton of options, if he opens the door. As great as that performance was, though, he’s moving to an another level playing against many Dierre Hills. Time will tell if his talent will outshine others. He is fun to watch and I hope to see more on the national stage.

BUT… that was a game against Lena man. A 2,000 person farm town in middle of nowhere northern Illinois that doesnt have a kid that will play serious ball beyond high school.
I have considered the same, but I have also watched the Rivals rankings fluctuate. Today, Dierre is #10 for RBs. Let's see how long that stays - my guess is he moves up the ladder.

You’re just talking about this year’s team right? Iowa starting tackle Gennings Dunker is a Le-Win guy. I’m guessing there are others that left the farm town.

If only there was a communication medium that could alert them of happenings in a multi-billion dollar industry so that they can go back and take a look once they are aware of it ... maybe if that was someone's job, that might happen.

Oh wait, that is a real job!
Maybe in a month or two someone may take a look at clips of this game. As TD mentioned above anyone looking into the context of the game and who they played won't hold his performance in as much higher regard as you do.

Thanks so much guys ! Today really was an unforgettable day for Chicago Christian . Didn't see a 47 -0 game coming . I thought after this playoff run we had, we could hang in with Moroa and maybe pull it out in the 4th quarter. This was basically the same team as last year that lost to Moroa 42-6 in the opening round of the playoffs. With 9 guys going both ways, it was truly a testimony to hard work, teamwork, and outstanding coaching. I really didn't want today to end.
Really happy for your school community. Hope this is the start of a long run of success.
