Head scratching games from the Outside looking in!

Some games that didn't go the way I thought:

Mahomet Seymour losing to Highland 42-41
Hardin-Calhoun 14-13 (I knew it would be close because of last seasons game but...)
Galena 34-9 over Morrison (Did Morrison's decision to change their helmets cause a curse?)
Pittsfield 14-7 over Athens (I knew it would be close because Pittsfield's D was good against 5A Jax)

Can anyone share articles on these games or have knowledge of these games?

Schools that are possibly fading away:

Arcola 0-2

Teams that are in a decline:

Reed-Custer 0-2

Teams that are surprisingly 0-2:

Athens
Mt Carmel

Athens lost both their 1,000 yard rushers from '23 to graduation and only has 2 starters back on offense. It may take a year for them to reload, but they are a solid program.

LIVE TONIGHT ON MARQUEE SPORTS NETWORK

The entire game was produced by eight brother rice students. Marquee had no input in the production. BRTV has no affiliation w NHFS, they have their own YouTube channel, which also simulcasted last night’s game.
Yup…

‘Marquee Sports Network Community Showcase’ to feature local high school football matchups produced and broadcasted by students at each respective high school;
Student broadcasters will have the opportunity to learn from Marquee Sports Network talent and executives through series of monthly workshops

LIVE TONIGHT ON MARQUEE SPORTS NETWORK

I'm not doing anything with Marquee this season so no inside here. I do find it interesting that so far it looks like the Marist Rice game is live on Marquee using then Rice/NFHS feed but that the game is not on NFHS? Again just some rumblings I've heard can anyone confirm this? If so wow double dipping the fans...especially from the NFHS side is bogus.

Rochester vs Cardinal Ritter (Week 2)

A big positive from this game is lots of good play to build on. Thankfully, the Rockets will not see this size or speed for the rest of the season. I'm still shocked at the size of that right OT....I guess Orlando Pace never left St. Louis!

CS8 coaches in analyzing this game film will, again, find themselves in the unenviable position of having to plan an attack against an intransigent Rocket defense.

The offense will be a big question, but one I can't wait to see the answer to. DL and KL will come up with something brilliant, I'm sure.
Your post is par excellence! Anytime one make another think, in a society greatly lacking in critical thinking, it's a good thing!

Nominate: Who should be the Week 2 State Wide IHSA Football Player of the Week?

Althoff's Dierre Hill Jr. had three carries for 175 yards. He also took the opening kick for six.

A: Dierre Hill Jr. 97 kickoff return (Austin Wilkinson kick), 11:44

A: Dierre Hill Jr. 92 run (Austin Wilkinson kick), 9:30

A: Dierre Hill Jr. 71 run (Austin Wilkinson kick), 11:17

They were very reasonable in using him.

Thank you St. Rita of Cascia!!

Perfect Friday night for football. Hawks looked good tonight at times. Winning 35-18 over Six Flags. Lots of big offensive plays for MS. Warren RB is a stud!

I wore my apparently lucky SR shirt under my MS polo tonight and the Swagger was back at Swagger High. Thanks Rocksoup!
FYI Quags can vouch that I had it on.
Big bounce-back win against a Northern powerhouse! That's what great programs do! Congrats! Roll through that schedule now.

Hilltoppers 0 Oswego 17 FINAL nm

Like I said above, either Oswego is very very good, like >Quarter Finals 8A / >Semi Finals 7A, or I don't see more than 4 wins Max on JCA's schedule.
Kevin, they will not be the same team Week #9.
Many a team has turned the corner in the heart of the regular season.
Oswego is a fundamentally sound team, and that was the difference last night.
They are a good team, but one that was held scoreless in the 2nd half with most 2nd Half possessions starting with a relatively short field.
I hope that the Fenwick and Marist games up next reveal a better, more heady version of the Hilltoppers.
