Carmel Catholic 31 Marian Catholic 21 - Final (Prep Bowl)

CCHS TD1 (Frosh)
CCHS TD2 (Frosh)
CCHS TD3 (Soph)
CCHS FG (Jr)
Final CCHS TD (Sr)

95% of CCHS’ 1st-Half offensive production was from Fr/So players. Not the same Frosh player for TD1 & TD2. One a receiver, the other a RB. Both started.
Many of their losses this year were to some darn good teams. LF beat one-loss LHS, LA, Fenwick... Does this mean a return to 2023 stature next year?

Warren wins 35-26, Stewart 42 carries, 359 yards and 5 TD's. Kid is amazing!!

hat on hat isn’t zone though. They go hat on hat with a lead blocker that’s iso blocking. Zone is everyone stepping one way and combo blocking.

Honestly I don’t think Warren runs any sort of zone scheme. It’s power, counter iso.

Either way Micah, it is just old school power football. It’s easy to appreciate what they do. They trust what they do well and don’t try to do too much. They make some nice simple play calls too that build off of what they do. Whoever calls the offense does an excellent job.
I realize Micah is the ultimate Homer for Warren football and there's nothing wrong with that. however, I've been watching Warren football back to when Micah's son starred there and even earlier than that, as well as the other North suburban conference schools. Warren's quarterback is not a thrower, I don't care what Micah says my son has played against Jack Wolf for years going up through the ranks as well as that running back Stewart. They're both wonderful athletes. they want to run the ball 100% of the time if they can get away with it and when they make it work it is a thing of 1970s football beauty. If this game has to get into Warren throwing it to get back in it it's not going to happen. As you saw yesterday and I mentioned on a different thread when we were prognosticating some of these games Warren has been susceptible all year to big plays even against some of the weak sisters in the conference and you saw it again yesterday with stud players. they are going to have to shore that up or they're going to have a problem. This is not the Warren defense your mommy and daddy grew up with!!

Estl vs normal west for the 100th time

So what you are telling me is that EStL is worried about getting kicked out of a conference!

~A conference that doesn't give them any competition unless a bored Flyers team takes the field.

~What does EStL get by being in a conference that limits them?

~St Francis beat LA as well... Moot point.

~This conference is terrible in the playoffs so why limit a "power" from competing in 7A or 8A (That will never happen)?

~Having a team that can carry the conference is a feather in the conference's hat. What teams would've won a state championship, from the SW Conference (or old Gateway), in the last 40 years only to have the Flyers defeat them in the playoffs.

I don't think the CCL has such a rule. I bet not other conference has such a rule within the state of Illinois. I bet there aren't any conferences in the US that has a rule like this. Common sense should tell ya... WTF kind of rule is this??? As others do so will I... I will just shake my head and laugh!!!
If you are going to spend your saturday mornings trying to troll the board atleast do better than this.

22 is the freshman rb for Barrington. I’ve been hearing about him for 4-5 years. He’s legit. Not sure how much more he will grow but with that speed? Wow.

I just watched the replay. Wow Barrington fumbled on the goal line! Brutal.
I could have saved you the time and you could have just read my thread. My thumb is still sore from all the typing and cold weather

Ok. I get it. You are right it does not matter. But I know the offense my son played there. I will leave it at that. Should be a good game.

Their base run game is zone. Hat on Hat. There is no miss direction. They block with lead blocker sometimes.

I might be wrong but it Doesn’t look like they run a ton of zone. It looks more like power and counter schemes, pin and pull. I don’t think I’ve seen them run any zone schemes.

Oh for the love of the Lord. It is not hyperbole to say this has been explained 50+ times.

THE SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE made the rule so that the Flyers would not be in the same class as their other teams, meaning, East, West, Edwardsville and formerly Collinsville and Granite City. Before the ruling, ESL ALWAYS petitioned to 7A.

Fear of playing ANY school in IL - or the nation - is nowhere in that equation. Will they always win? Nope. Will they have a puncher's chance every year, YUP! Mount Carmel and Loyola to start the past two years, they were 1-1 and the loss was a last possession game to MC. Tip the cap!

You think MC or ESL would not survive 8A? Look at Edgy's top 30 ... year in and year out. See where MC (and LA, who FLYER WHOOPED) are right now in that end-of-the-year mix. If ESL was included in that calculus, at what position would they be sitting?

They have played against big DT tackles all year. Most teams just fall in the hole or crab rush. When teams play straight up and not try to clog the middle – it gives holes to Stewart. Warren runs a zone blocking system, so they are not trying to drive block. They just mirror you and let Stewart find the right hole. The scheme has been successful over the years. Warren offensive line is not small. They use a two big TE;s to help lead block. You better have more than 1 DT guy. Warren will test all DL’s and LB's. The DB's better be able to tackle when Stewart gets to second level. He is low to the ground, very strong, quick, pretty fast and flexible from being a wrestler. THE FLAG !
He is one of the slipperiest runners I’ve ever seen. If you can wrap up at the line you’re in good shape but if he gets a bit of speed he’s so tough to hold on to.

York didn’t get out of their defense for glenbard west or Glenbrook south so I doubt they do it this week. They have 6’5 260lb nd commit Joe Rieff to anchor the d line. Also besides the qb they have 2 good running backs
