I remember last year the Lemont folks were complaining about that too. Some of them even thought it was a premeditated decision to match them up 3 years in a row.
They should be complaining about the fact their school is going on about 5 years without a nickname lol
Remember the old days? Lockport,Romeoville,Pekin or East Moline would get them in round 1 Wednesday game

I remember the second trip a couple of reserves thought it was a good idea to drink in the hotel room the night before the game. Coach Zimmer made them ride home in the equipment van with all the muddy gear.
6a should be seeded 1-32. Actually every class should. That way you do not get the same match ups every year or other year in early rounds.
My buddy down in Hazelwood still has NOT heard a valid reason why the Flyers conference said EStL can't play up 2 classifications but will allow them to play up one. Why would they allow EStL to play all these power teams across the US and NOT play in whatever classification they want!? What sense does that make??? WE all know the reason EStL doesn't play up to 7A is because of MIGHTY MT CARMEL... Period. Flyers wouldn't survive in 8A in most years. They need to seed every class 1-32 as a minimum.

THE SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE made the rule so that the Flyers would not be in the same class as their other teams, meaning, East, West, Edwardsville and formerly Collinsville and Granite City. Before the ruling, ESL ALWAYS petitioned to 7A.
Fear of playing ANY school in IL - or the nation - is nowhere in that equation. Will they always win? Nope. Will they have a puncher's chance every year, YUP! Mount Carmel and Loyola to start the past two years, they were 1-1 and the loss was a last possession game to MC. Tip the cap!
You think MC or ESL would not survive 8A? Look at Edgy's top 30 ... year in and year out. See where MC (and LA, who FLYER WHOOPED) are right now in that end-of-the-year mix. If ESL was included in that calculus, at what position would they be sitting?

EXACTLY!!! I grew up in Hazelwood and still keep in touch with a lot of football people down there. They don't know shit about the IHSA rules especially on petitioning up. They've got their own problems and couldn't care less!

~Having a team that can carry the conference is a feather in the conference's hat. What teams would've won a state championship, from the SW Conference (or old Gateway), in the last 40 years only to have the Flyers defeat them in the playoffs.
I don't think the CCL has such a rule. I bet not other conference has such a rule within the state of Illinois. I bet there aren't any conferences in the US that has a rule like this. Common sense should tell ya... WTF kind of rule is this??? As others do so will I... I will just shake my head and laugh!!!
If you are going to spend your saturday mornings trying to troll the board atleast do better than this.
