Bears

I am a live and let live guy. That's your choice. But I refuse to watch Garbage and I was actually a Chiefs fan before I became a Bears fan. I never really jumped off the Chiefs wagon. My oldest child is a big time Chiefs fan and has been since the age of 10 when the opportunity to walk on the field was presented.

That child and the spouse of that child are getting Chiefs season tickets starting next season as they just moved into the area from out west.

Oh, I get it. My enthusiasm was crushed after that Hail Mary two weeks ago.

Happy for your kid. It's a great place to watch football.

Bears

Here is the million $ question, who in the Bears org is most incompetent?

A. Matt Eberflus- the team looks clueless and he looks over matched

B. Ryan Poles- he picked the coach and built a roster around “difference” maker skill players with no line.

C. Kevin Warren- he announced a new stadium with no idea how to finance and no plan going forward, but the presentation looked great.

D. Virginia McCaskey- she is the owner with all the power.

Bears

When you're born and raised a fan of a team, it's really damn difficult to jump ship. At least that's how I'm wired. I can't just pick a random team and have the same passion for them. Doesn't mean I'm not furious with the ownership and the on field performance of my two favorite professional franchises (Bears and White Sox).

I have asked this question too. I have said this before. But I was a Chiefs fan years before becoming a Bears fan. I became a Bears fan in 1977 and Walter was the reason. I didn't regret the decision until a few years after Ditka was fired. I don't have any Bears jerseys. But I do have a red and a white Len Dawson Chiefs jersey. I am still a Chiefs fan. They had some good teams under Schottenheimer, but just couldn't get over the hump.

And the Chiefs had some rough years in the 2000s. But they haven't missed the playoffs since 2014 and they were 9-7 in that season. And since the end of 2009 they have missed the playoffs only three times. And we all know about the Super Bowl championships.

The Chiefs have trailed in almost all of their games this year but still haven't lost. It's not like they are blowing the league away. They are just winning. I look at that blocked FG yesterday to end the game against DEN and preserve their perfect season. That is a team that simply never quits. Does anyone think the Bears could have done that? I don't either.

The Bears players have quit. I really don't know how players can quit when they are living their dream and making serious $$$. I really don't. But, this coaching staff is awful. How Eberfool hasn't been fired yet is beyond me.

I am not going to be forced to watch this garbage anymore. But I love NFL football and I am signing up to get NFL Ticket so I can watch what I want. I don't care about the cost. BTW, The Washington, Pittsburgh game was a real good game. I am happy I got to see that game. In years past we wouldn't have gotten to view it with the Bears at home. Thank God that changed. They are just awful.

Soooo...are you guys, who said the Bears are a playoff team ready to admit your mistake? HMMM???
They are not a playoff team, you were right, your trophy is the mail.

Fortunate to have had 2 MS sons play against LA over the years, including twice in 2016 - one loss at LA and one win at Univ of IL. MS Def will likely be the reason we either win or lose in 2024 since both Offs are very capable at scoring, and have big men up front. Will be great to watch this rivalry again on Sat at 1:30, and hope LA coaches once again see the Red Herring vs Hawk talent of our team. Prediction MS 38 - LA 28, pre-party at Meiers, post-party at Stormys.
Oh man your son was on the team that beat Palatine in 2016. Was a great game that day.

Higher seeds should get the home game.

It doesn't matter the level. The NFL doesn't care who's better, they are rewarding teams for their regular season which is what the IHSA does. Except the NFL is actually even more so against your idea or accuracy in that they'll even seed a division winner of a bad division over a team with a vastly superior record. That's because they are rewarding the team for winning their division. Did anyone really think the Bills were better than the Chefs 👨‍🍳?

The less teams in the NFL means that the computer will be more accurate and less faulty information included in the algorithm. The reason the NFL doesn't do calpreps is because its flat out a bad idea. Does the NCAA still use a computer?

Essentially this is all a solution looking for a problem.
You ignored the most important part of my post, which was the parity that exists in the NFL compared to hs football.

If the winner of the best division in the NFL plays the winner of the weakest division, the game will still be very competitive. And its because of that which makes there system of rewarding reg season success a much more accurate representation of who the best teams are compared to the IHSA model.

When the Bears go bad I watch GB and watch good football.

I also was a Mahomes fan before he was drafted in the NFL.

Also a Harbaugh fan so watching the Chargers.

I still wish we had Fields. He at least had great highlight moments when rushing with the football.

Watching our current QB running forever east and west behind the line of scrimmage is getting old and is like watching grade school kids playing around with a football in the playground.

Chicago is cursed with some of the worst ownership in all of professional sports. Unfortunately, that is the most constant element of a pro sports franchise, so the fans are pretty much stuck with these owners until they decide to sell the team. Yes, I'm stating the obvious.

The coaching staff is toast, it's just a matter of when. I'm wondering who decides the fate of Ryan Poles. Is that Kevin Warren's decision or George McCaskey?

A bunch of studs and possible POY guys listed there!

If I may introduce one from the south, Althoff sophomore signal caller, Jayden Ellington's stats:

He shares the offensive responsibilities with Dierre Hill, who himself is having a fine season too.

Why is anyone still a Bear's fan? Sort of the battered wife syndrome.

Well, that's a very silly question. The NFL has 32 teams and the talent is dispersed much more evenly throughout its 32 teams as opposed to hs football. Making it easier to accurately judge teams based solely on record. But, I feel like that answer was too obvious for you to not already know that.

Maine South @ Loyola

I’m excited for the latest chapter in the rivalry. I’m not on the inside at all, but it seemed to me that Maine South was the bar against which LA measured itself as it was building its program to the current state. Even with some nice LA wins in the interim, the final 5 minutes of the 2010 quarters will haunt me to my grave.

Calpreps says LA by 15. I don’t buy it as I think the MS quarterback can do some damage against the LA defense. Could be a high scoring affair. I think it’s a pick ‘em.
Correct. And now LA is the bar. Hollywood leads the playoff series 5-4. That 2010 semifinal will go down as a top five game in MS history. I think it lasted 40 minutes. That 2 point conversion for LA was one of the best calls I've seen a team make. The current teams I'm sure will hear the stories all week about the bad blood between the two teams. Good luck!
