Private Schools 7 - Public Schools 1. That’s a wrap!

Watching this thread brings a laugh with every update. I'm watching my boys back home in Michigan. 11 finalists are public. 5 are private. After the first 4 games, the titles are 2-2. And the largest divisions are being dominated by the public schools in the finals thus far.

Michigan public schools football as a whole must be better than Illinois public school football. The top QB in the country is from a Michigan Public School.

By the way, when I went for a hot chocolate in the middle of the game, the lady ringing me out at concessions was all over the public/private debate. And I didn’t even ask. “$5 please. This is ridiculous. Public can’t compete with privates. This is going to be another blowout.” It was 21-0 in the first quarter at the time. I had to chuckle to myself. I said yea, we shouldn’t be in 3A and kept it moving.
ESL and Rochester are just fine with playing private schools in game 1 or game 14

It is obvious that something needs to change - putting private schools in a seperate playoff would not be a bad idea as other states do it. Publics, especially the smaller ones cannot compete with the recruiting advantages that private have for the most part.
Thank you for acknowledging Participation Trophies are a dream you wish to come true. East St. Louis, Byron, Rochester and the like don't give a damn about whom they play in the title games. They just lineup and beat them. In fact, the only games in which we were challenged were against public teams from the North. Richmond Burton came down to the last play. We beat Morris on a last second field goal. And Geneseo should have never been close. But it was only a one score game.

The pathetic, whiney inferiority complex ridden argument of separate playoffs for public and private is steeped in the tears of a sub 70 IQ adult baby.

5A game updates

Sure looked like that should have JCA’s ball after that fumble near the Naz goal line.

Joint possession goes to offense, but looked like JCA had sole possession and was down prior to Naz reaching in and making it joint.

Huge call.
Also looked like JCA got in on that 4th down busted play when the QB dropped the snap. Appeared that the QB pushed the RB over the goal line.
