I’m sure there will be the usually suspects such as MC, LWE, Loyola, Maine South, HF etc...

but now having to take into account what teams started a bunch of juniors, who had monster sophomore teams, and possible transfers.

Palatine Pirates will be good.

How many kids from this year’s D coming back? Man, Rice’s defense this year was really f’ing good.

DL - Pierce

LB - Sepulveda
LB - Ivers
SS - Fahy
CB - Kinard

They are a top 5 team in the Fall. Very impressive. It amazes how much football talent comes from the communities that Rice, Rita, MC and Marist pull from. All of the aforementioned are top programs year in and year out and they basically pull from the same areas. Correct? It’s really impressive...

I think that MC has a longer reach than most Catholic high schools. Marist, for example, a much larger school, gets its students from 81 zip codes. MC, by comparison, draws from more than 100, which is more than even Loyola. I don't know their numbers, but I think that Rice and Rita draw primarily from the surrounding neighborhoods. When I was at MC, kids came from Indiana, Flossmoor, and Cicero, not to mention Morgan Park, Beverly and Mt. Greenwood.

I won't say rebuild at MC, but they have a major reload project, especially on Offense. Defense had a ton of Soph and Juniors start either the entire, or part of the Spring so they will be solid the next two seasons. I think they will have 7 returners back and 2 more with lots of snaps.....Offense has to find a replacement for Lynch. Brandon Rogers is hurt and return for the fall is not looking good I'm told, so Coach Lynch will have his first major project as a head coach developing a QB. They will have a strong running game....Enzo De Rosa had more time at RB then Odeluga and did very well....Odeluga was at about 50% with a bad ankle all Spring but gave his all and will be missed at MC....Big one to watch is Freshman phenom Darrion Dupree who had a big freshman season and is drawing D1 attention.....the line only returns 1 with D1 recruit Ryan Boersma but there is a ton left in the cupboard at that position. WR will be an unknown.....Tucker Miller got hurt before the Spring and didn't play the season as a result so nobody knows what he can do. Biggest Offensive threat is Joey Thompson....WR/TE/Slot.....went off in the Spring...had 16 catches against BR...shattering any MC record, he will be someone to lean on for the QB until he gets settled. Its a reload after having Justin Lynch at QB but I'm intrigued with the possibility of this team.

I was at the MC game and saw a couple of the other games on BR You Tube and Boyer wasn't used much, at least as a receiving option, and I didn't know why.....he's like 6'8 (with cleats) and 240...I'd be finding that monster all game...who is going to out jump him? I know he came from the CPS program and didn't face any of the good CPS schools there so CCL Blue must have been an eye opener, but just thought he would be used more.

I'm watching the BR/MC freshmen on YouTube and just saw Dupree run for three long scores. The QB Jacob Dugger seems like a capable field general
Dugger got better as the season went on. If Rogers can’t go, Blainey Dowling is a very capable player....his last name is on the stadium! He just needs to put the hours in starting now...but he plays baseball all summer. Bossie can be a real offensive threat too. He was just a Sophomore and started on Varsity. Weapons are there, this Fall season will depend on if a QB emerges.

Agreed - he will have to be used as more of a pass-catching TE this Fall. He definitely seemed to get lost in the mix this Spring. Even played some snaps on the defensive line. But I expect big things from him in the coming months. Just received an offer from the Illini.

JCA is definitely a top 10 team, maybe even top 5 to start the season. As strong as they were this spring, I expect them to be better in the fall. They return a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and have a very good group of sophs coming up. More depth than they have had in years.

1. LA
2. LWE
3 Warren
4. Rita
5. JCA

Moe Davis, jet sweep specialist and TE/LB Parker Startz had big year on offense. DL Tavon Rice is a force. Lots of talent in the pipeline.

I think MC can definitely end up near the top at the end, but to start out probably not 10.

Like mccaravan wrote, defense wlll be solid. Had many sophs out there. Asher Tomazewski on the DL, Bossie stepped in at corner, Arrington at Strong Safety. Varsity had 9 sophs up in total up.

Offensively will take a while to gel. Losing the production of Lynch, Odeluge and 4/5 of the OL and TE. So might take some time to get rolling but very excited about what they have coming up the pipeline.

There is a kid from Manteno who goes to St. Rita. Kind of an odd yard sign for Manteno...grew up playing for the Manteno Wildcats youth league, and the Wildcats list St. Rita as one of the schools former Wildcats play for in their weekly "Have a good week" postings...

But that would be one heck of a beastly commute every day...

Palatine will be REALLY good next two years. Had 7 sophomores and a freshman(who legit has a chance to be the best ever to play at Palatine IMO) on varsity, all of whom started or saw extensive playing time. Sophomore(JV) squad, even with 7 best sophs on varsity this fall, ran the table on the MSL West for the second year in a row. Bostick returns for senior year too.

Not uncommon actually, especially with proud alumni kids.....MC has a kid from Glen Ellyn....

Very deep at running back, but OL allowed eight sacks at Rice. Joey Thompson, who has a second-degree black belt, must be using some Bruce Lee tricks to grab passes out of the air.
8 sacks? Maybe 2 legit when they got right through, then 3 more credited when the QB scrambled for over 5 seconds....hard to hold a block longer then that. All those seniors on that line are playing in College and Boersma will be D1 if he goes the Football route, not their best game but a very above group the past two seasons. Parker and Schooler were out Friday...Butcher has great size but isn't a burner down the field....the other 2 WR's had about 8 meaningful varsity snaps between them, plays downfield were taking too long to develop. hence the dump offs to Thompson and his record performance.

I can’t remember one time lynch was comfortable in the pocket that wasn’t a quick pass.
everytime he dropped back there was someone in his face. Whelan himself had at least 3 sacks
rice absolutely dominated the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Ultimately it is going to come down to QB. Interested to see the schedule as well, should be out by tomorrow. I feel good about the prospects ive seen for the OL( 2 sophs were up Fleck and Duerig) but at end of the day its gonna come down to the QB position.

But I agree with the MC posters. Preseason ranking whatever. Definitely stronger by the end of the season and for the foreseeable future.

Don’t worry about us Rock, I don’t think the LWE fans will agree with your #8 ranking though! 😀

A little off season spice is always nice!
O my
Rock
I think your ranking is pretty funny. MS wouldn’t or shouldn’t be happy at 7 either. Your trying to stir the pot in the off season that’s for sure. Has covid fever scrambled your brains? LMAO

I think this coming year is not a slam dunk on the domination we’ve become used to from LWE. Tell me why I’m wrong. The program is in excellent shape. It’s just a team that in this particular upcoming year is going to be better at the end of the season than the beginning

Your telling me all those teams you have ranked will be better than LWE at the beginning and the end of the season? You have LP ranked #9 just below the Griffins. You are hitting the bottle to hard my friend. Last time I looked East hasn’t lost a game since going undefeated winning the 8A title. East is #2 maybe #1.
#8 that’s funny

North Chicago (the city, not the northside)

I assume you talk to people close to the program, do they think I’m way off base?

If it makes you feel better, I have LWE in the top 3 in the way, way, way too early 2022 top ten.

Lol
I don’t really care how you rank them. All that matters is they continue to win. Do I believe your off base? Yes but everyone is entitled to their opinion. We will see how they do in the fall.
