Excited for intraconference play. A few enticing matchups this week.

Brother Rice -8 vs Benet...The Crusaders cannot afford to drop this one. I think they win by a few TDs.

Marist -6 vs Naz...Nazareth seemed to find their offense late last week. Will need a more complete effort against a good Marist squad.

ND + 26 vs Mount Carmel...Big test for the Dons after looking really great the first two weeks. I'll be happy if the Dons can keep this within two TDs. If any Caravan are making the trek to Niles, highly recommend grabbing a steak sandwich at Booby's right on Milwaukee Avenue!

Loyola -26 vs St. Rita...Ramblers look like a machine. I think St. Rita struggles to score in this game.

Iggy -14 vs Larry...I think Iggy rolls this week.

JCA -44 vs DLS...No contest here, unfortunately.

Marmion -5 vs Montini...Good test for both teams here. Marmion hasn't been challenged yet. I think they sneak by with a one possession win here.

Providence +4 vs Fenwick...Celtics challenged themselves the first two weeks. I think they'll be ready for the Friars and win this one by a couple TDs.

Viator -18 vs DP...The Lions look like they have a good team this year.

MCC +18 vs St. Patrick...The Shamrocks willingly making the long Friday night trek to Woodstock, interesting. I think they win this one, but it'll be close.

Bloom +42 vs Marian Catholic...Surprised at the size of the spread here. Spartans win by 3 TDs.

Carmel -24 vs Leo...Corsairs might be back. Starting the year with impressive wins over traditionally strong public schools. Fairly tough schedule ahead, but a return to the playoffs is possible for Carmel this year.

BR -8 GTron does not know what to make of the Crusaders just like pretty much everyone else but I saw them and I like them beating the wings decisively.

Marist -6 GTron still has historical Naz in the system. Not saying the current RoadRunner won’t return to form later in the season, but for this week, the anatomically larger bird which happens to be Red wins handily

NND +26 The above 2 picks, I’m pretty solid on. But these next two, GTron got the number right making it hard to choose. In both cases, I’ll take the points at home.

SICP -14 Iggy is a division above their appointed one. Should cruise at home with that beautiful autumnal-sunsetting skyline as a backdrop

JCA -44 Toppers need to keep improving for the weeks to come so no off week here. Subs will play but starters will be given every opportunity to sharpen all facets of their game.

Cadets -5 see Iggy without the skyline remark

Friar -4 Tough game to pick. Number is right. 7-0, 14-0 game?

StV -18 Great measuring stick for DePaul but the Lions ain’t messing around in these first 4 games.

MarianSticks +18 Going against Coach in this one. Rocks should win but Canes at home and Rocks working on O, I’ll take the 3 TDs.

MarianSparta -42 The Heights will be rocking with this intratown battle.

CoM -24 Jason McKie has the Corsairs ship repaired and heading out to sea. The Lions won’t stop this fleet this week

Don't feel good about DePaul or Bloom but had to take a couple risks to try to separate! I don't feel great about LA covering the 26 but their passing game is their strength so far and Rita Secondary is their defensive weakness. Barr coming off the edge at the young QB may prove hard to handle for him. I think Benet will give BR a game but 8 isn't enough....no 80's show pun intended.

Hope you are right on SR/LA. My experience watching this game over the years is St. Rita will have to minimize 3 and outs to help the defense rest. We’ll see. Seems like they have the OLine to do it but haven’t seen the lanes yet this year, albeit they have faced one elite front 7 and one tough/under appreciated front 7 this year. No rest for the weary this week.

I'm just here to express my interest in Rice-Benet and SICP-Laurence. Both games pique my curiosity.

As GTron3000 gets its screws torqued to their correct parameters and some of its faulty vacuum tubes replaced, she is starting to show her teeth. But ignazio tamed the leviathan this week with 9 out of 12 correctly picked games.
