Had a chance to get caught up with for a quick recruiting update on Phillips 2019 TE Jahleel Billingsley who will be one of the top ranked names in the 2019 class.
'Recruiting has been pretty quiet since the holidays. A lot of the coaches are either on a break or working and it's also the dead period so it's been quiet."
"I was invited to the Army All American Bowl but I didn't go. It's a long ways from home and I didn't want my family to put out that much money for the combine."
"I've been getting some Twitter follows from a few assistant coaches from Georgia but that's been about it for now. My coaches at school have said that things will be picking up very soon with recruiting."
Billingsley also hopes to make a few upcoming visits soon.
"I'm looking at getting out to visit Minnesota and Penn State sometime soon. I don't have any visit dates set yet."
Thoughts on Billingsley recruiting: Big time name and a kid who's recruiting stock will no question take off very, very soon. Look for Billingsley to add even more major FBS/Power 5 offers and will be one of the highest ranked names in the Class of 2019 in Illinois.
