Held at West Chicago on Saturday. Next Level is run by QB coach Greg Holcomb and has been around for over a year or so to great fanfair and Next Level has attracted several top names in the Class of 2017.
Overall Greg and crew did a great job here. The camp was exceptionally well run and organized and no question had a professional touch seldom seen at various group camps. The only real knock from my standpoint was the overall timing of this camp....again it's very hard to compete with the multiple college one day and satellite camps at this time of the year that attract multiple college coaches.
Again I've seen several of the Next Level kids multiple times this off season (especially the QB's) so I'll list some names of who I was able to either see for the first time in person or the first time I've seen them in a while etc.
S/LB Corey Blair OPRF- first time seeing Blair in person. Has some size and abilities and will be a name to watch this coming season for the Huskies.
WR Fabian McCoy Phillips 2019- yet another name to watch this season for the Wildcats. Runs well has good ball skills and impressed in positional drill work. Also the Phillips underclassmen group is loaded.
WR Kijana Caldwell Oswego East- a 2017 kid with some athletic ability. Good size, is fluid and makes plays. Will draw more fall looks I believe.
TE Davion Talbert OPRF- 2017 kid is another OPRF name to watch this fall. Hard working kid seems to be at every camp available.
TE Brett Bittner St. Laurence- great sized kid (6-foot-5 205 pounds) who also has some ball skills. Yet another name/weapon for the Vikings in 2016.
LB Dorion Pollard Hinsdale Central- 2017 kid who's starting to get offers. Pollard has good size runs well and I loved him live last season. Seems to have added a bit more strength from a season ago. Could be a nice sleeper type for ay the MAC level?
DB Duvell Lee Simeon- one of several secondary names to watch for the Wolverines this fall. Has very good speed and ball skills and has a chance to improve his overall stock this summer and early fall.
S Dexter Warren Phillips- NIU commit is a typical NIU type of kid. Meaning? Meaning that Warren ha speed and is very athletic yet is still a bit of a work in progress physically. Warren will add 15-20 plus pounds at NIU and has a chance to develop into a longer term player for the Huskies down the road a tad.
S Edwardo Gonzales Nazareth Academy- 2018 kid who I also see everywhere. Has a chance to make a name for himself this fall for Naz. Has good size and overall tools along with more physical development/growth ahead for him.
