Great day overall some of the best weather so far this late spring/ear;y summer. Also an impressive turnout for this first ever Lake Park camp I would say they wound up with around 180-190 kids in total. Also had a very impressive group of college coaches in attendance. Full staffs from Missouri, Michigan State plus multiple schools from several different levels took park.

Kudos also to Chris Roll and all at Lake Park. The event was well run and well organized, LP had plenty of help on hand and I honestly couldn't of asked for better cooperation.

Now Who Stood Out? Part 2

DE Kris Reid St. Joseph- again knew nothing about this kid until this camp. Measured in at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and worked mainly at defensive end. Raw but also has good overall physical tools, Will also add more size at the next level and is a name to watch for the FCS level and below.

OL Patrick Panasiuk Lake Park 2019- yes another Panasiuk. Already has good size strength and frame. Struggles at times again bigger name competition but that's all part of the learning curve. The raw potential is there no question.

OL/DL Isaish Lee Nazareth Academy 2018- I'm sure the Naz posters will fill us all in more on this kid but I just lied what I saw from him. Will become a very good, very strong DT type and overall showed some real potential here in one on ones in particular.

QB Jake Vincent Hampshire- just seems to have the most "pop" when the ball leaves his hand compared to several others in this positional group.

DB Derric Lee Waubonsie Valley 2018- will no question be a high level regionally if not nationally ranked name in the 2018 class. Has the makings of a big time defensive back. Has speed, instincts, cover skills and is a very high level athlete here.

OL/DL Kendrick Green Peoria- was easily one of the top performers here. Green has great size and is also a very quick and athletic kid for his size. Wound up getting moved over to the defensive line and showed some real upside. Was unblockable at times and what impressed me was how quickly Green took to coaching at the camp. Has just a natural ability to shed bigger blockers and get to the ball especially as a DT type. Will no doubt make several schools rethink position for Green this summer.

WR Austin Hasahn Lyons- overall size is no question holding schools back for now but I like how Hasahn competes and is able to fight for the ball in one on ones. Has good speed runs good routes and will be a very good player at the next level.

QB/ATH Samson Evans Prairie Ridge 2018- has great speed and is just a high level athlete type. I can see Evans winding up playing S/WR/RB or even QB depending upon the offense/system. BCS level kid here athletically and finding an eventual position for the next level will be the biggest struggle for schools recruiting Evans I feel.

OT Shane Walker St. Francis- tackle body type who had some good moments and some Ok moments here. Will draw more looks especially from early senior tape this fall.

DB Felix King Guerin Prep- very hard to not miss in drill and positional work. Size no question is the issue so far for colleges but from an overall athlete standpoint King remains a very good player here. Covers well has good instincts and reacts well.

WR Micah Jones Warren Township 2018- is about as well known a name as anyone in the 2018 class. Has the overall look size/potential as anyone in this class. My biggest question is will Jones outgrow WR and wind up as say a TE/DE type?

LB Malcolm Fox Phillips- played DE last year but worked out here as a LB. Admittedly saw limited reps of Fox here but I did notice that he's increased his overall speed and quickness and showed well from what I saw. More and more schools will look hard at Fox as a OLB from here on out.

DB Tyrik Henderson Glenbard North 2018- another high level player and athlete. Has started to add offers and will be a BCS level kid. Great speed/tools and ball skills. Just goes hard at all times and just seems to have a love and joy for football. Believe it or not something that's something I just don't see as much as you'd think these days.

RB/LB Erik Hansen Burlington Central- kid I had no idea about until; this camp. Has great size (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) and just looks to be a high level athlete. Just looked impressive in the underwear Olympics portion of this camp. No question a kid who's tape I'll go back and watch.

QB/ATH Coran Taylor Peoria 2018- saw Taylor live in 2015. Great size kid real high level athlete type. Throws it pretty well looked to be pretty accurate. QB skills and game still needs work/refining but overall? Will draw a ton of looks from here on out and measured in a 6-foot-4 194 pounds.

DE Jordan Brown Lemont- also had a terrific camp and could be in the running for overall camp MVP. Has great off the edge speed and length I didn't realize until seeing him live. Also Brown has a great motor goes hard on every rep and just provided issues for opposing OL in one on ones. Still will add size and strength at the college level. Great upside.

QB Jayson Jackson Simeon 2018- Jackson didn't get a ton of reps under center in 2015 but when he did you could immediately see some real speed and potential. Jackson no question will be an athlete type who is already drawing offers. Jackson I feel could wind up playing WR at the high level yet it also depends on the offense that he's recruited for as well. Reminds me a bit of East St Louis QB Rey Estes..who like Estes will draw QB offers and potentially high BCS level offers as an Athlete type.
