Provy Grad gets HC job at Ball State

Providence Catholic High School in Joliet, Ill., where he served as the wide receivers coach from 1998-99.

No love for New Lenox. C’mon!

He has a real opportunity to eventually be the head coach at his alma mater, Purdue. If he turns around Ball State as he did Butler, this could happen.

If he does, it will either be 10 years down the road or it will mean Purdue whiffs on their next hire and is back looking in 2-3 years.

That is absent a Brohm situation where the next hire leaves for a lateral/step down situation just because of personal connections. But with Big Ten money becoming what it is, I think that will be one of the last times we will see a Big Ten or SEC coach with job security willingly leave for a non Power 2 job.

It has been fun to see Uremovich move around the ranks. Monken too.

Not saying it happens in 2-3 years at all. Just saying turning around two Indiana schools already and having lifelong ties to the state as well as being an alum sets him up for the job at some point.
