REJOICE!!! I’m leaning towards attending Naperville Central at Lyons Township, does anyone have any intel on this one? I saw LT once at DGN earlier this year and they look great he part. No studs, just a well coached group of guys that play very good team football
Is the Stevenson at LWE game the better choice ? Where should i go Friday ?
I’m also hitting a game Saturday, still undecided on that too, but leaning DGN at Batavia, I’ve never been to a game at Batavia

Would highly recommend Lake Forest vs Geneva (@ LF). Should be great game, great atmosphere, good seating/view(s), very good concession/food. Depending on your location, an easy commute, just off Tri-State north. I would anticipate a very close, very competitive game.

Saturday night, I like Saint Rita vs Quincy. Western Avenue rough and tumble! Good luck, you'll have fun.

You want old school football go see ... Warren vs. York ... for the Semi. I love it ... both were lower seeds. Warren 🎢 is the 27th seed. Just curious what is the lowest 8A seed to make it to the Semi and Finals game ?

NC/Lyons should be a good game with Lyons coming out on top. Don't see Stevenson staying close to LWE. Expect DGN to be favored but Batavia with the home field. IMHO DGN the only team with a chance to knock off Mt. Carmel. MC hitting on all cylinders with QB now more mobile.

Warren would be the lowest seed to make the semi's in 8A. Lowest seed to win the 8A title was Maine South in 2016 as a #26 seed. Edwardsville made the semi's as a #26 seed in 2017. Other low seeds to make semi's include 2019 when Marist made semi's as a #23 seed and Rice made semi's as a #24 seed.

Lake Forest a beautiful venue. SR battle tested, don't think Quincy will hang.

Back in the 1-16 North/South bracketing days Glenbard North made the finals in 2009 as a 14 seed. at 5-4. Equivalent of a 28 seed.

That was 2007, not 2009. GBN made semi's in 2009 as a 3 seed at 8-1.
I believe the year is a mute point. It's more about someone making it to the finals at 5-4 as a very low seed. I doubt we ever see anyone seeded that low make it to the finals again. I hope Warren makes it. They are fun to watch.

I hate that there are so few Friday night games in the playoffs. I love the playoffs, but Saturday's are for college football, for me, it's my favorite sport. There's a natural order to these things, HS on Friday, college on Saturday, NFL on Sunday.

I fully understand some facilities don't have lights, and travel, and wanting the extra day to prepare, and I get it, but HS football is meant for Friday nights. I can't think of a better way to start the weekend.

Did some research. 2007 was the year and they would have been the 28 seed (Neuqua had the tiebreaker for the 27 spot). I know it was 2007 because that was the year of the fan fighting after the GBN v Fremd game

Yup. I was there. That was insane and actually resulted in a home playoff game for Fremd in 2013 or 2014 I believe when glenbard north was supposed to be home in the first round. That was crazy that Fremd still got the home game years later.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I love my Vikings but will probably make it to Champaign quicker on Saturday than to Lake Forest from Geneva. Will be following on X though.

You said mute instead of moot ironically, right

Looks like the Warren/York game is on YouTube tonight also

It was a second quarter knockout by York. Warren had a fortunate run to the quarterfinals.

Combined with Stevenson's loss, it was a disappointing night for the North Suburban Conference.

The new Southwest Valley Conference, on the other hand, had a great night.

If Santiago doesn’t get hurt for Palatine, Warren would have been out in the 1st Rd. The Pirates had a real nice team this year but when you lose your #1 QB it becomes much more difficult to win.

Curious if Santiago played defense because they couldn’t stop Stewart and Warren.

Yeah IHSA did some funny stuff with the cut that robbed us of a #1 in the south and gave The Beloved a 2nd round matchup with DGS... a rematch of a game that went to the final moments in week 1. DGS came back in the 2nd half of the rematch to win in the final moments. Then DGS had a tight one with but a L to GBN. It was a really tight South bracket.

Pretty sure we knocked you off in 2007.
