Flyers travels to Las Vegas. Schedule posted.

That should put the game during the second weekend in September. The same weekend as the Canelo Alvarez/Terrence Crawford fight that was just announced. The Bears also play in Vegas next year, could possibly fall on that weekend??? Start making travel plans now Flyer fans.

Here’s a thought…why doesn’t ESTL go independent in football? Would allow them to have a dynamite regular season schedule and then play where they belong for the playoffs.

ESL plays the schedule they do because it’s hard to get games locally. Had it not been for Mt Carmel and Loyola the last 2 years stepping up would have been another out of town game.

would conference kick them out if they pulled football, just something I thought about.
That is one of the valid questions. Other sports at ESL aren't so successful that it would warrant being kicked out in all other sports just to benefit one program.

Secondarily, scheduling 3-4 nonconference games against willing and appropriate opponents is a cakewalk compared to finding 9 dates. Most teams are pretty locked in weeks 3-9. Short of an IMG or Bishop Gorman, most power programs don't have the schedule flexibility to say "sure we will schedule you for a week 5 game." So weeks 3-9 kind of become a black hole that only get filled out of sheer scheduling serendipity.

Prior to GC and Collinsville leaving the swc scheduling two open dates were challenging some years. Now they have 4 open dates. 2 years ago they only played 8 games because a local team (De Smet) bailed on them right before the season to play another swc team.
