My impressions of Elijah Beach: I was able to meet Elijah Beach this past Sunday at a small Junior Day event I held for some invite only underclassmen names. Beach, who also plays basketball at Streamwood no question passes the eyeball test on all accounts. Beach also shows real promise on video and I feel is a real potential under the radar sleeper type.
Evaluation of Elijah Beach: On video Beach shows very good overall bend and lean, gets off the snap pretty well and also has good strength. Beach also shows good instincts, has a good fe3el for sniffing out plays and also is very assignment sound. Beach also has good size/frame and can also show some quick burst and explosion at times. I also really like Beach's feet and is just an overall solid athlete.
Room for improvement? Beach can work on getting off the snap a bit quicker and also needs to improve using his hands better. Beach can also work on improving his overall technique and fundamentals as a defensive end/pass rusher while also adding a bit more strength for the college level.
Projected level: Lots to like here especially for a kid who I feel still has a ton to learn and improve upon for the college level. While Beach still needs to refine his game and skills he also possesses really good size/frame and has the physical tools to develop into a mid tier FBS/FCS level recruit. I'll start off Beach as say a mid to upper two star name who has a chance to impress more this off season and heading into the summer at various camps/combines.
Beach is definitely a nice sleeper/under the radar name to keep an eye on over the next 12-16 months.
