Going to roll out a ton of these starting today. Really no great place to start so I'm starting off with the verbally committed kids in the 2018 class then I will also be adding in several 2018 and 2019 names as well. Name: Jeff Jenkins

School: Prairie Ridge

Graduation Year: 2018

Position: Offensive Guard

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 260 pounds

Recruiting Status: Verbally committed to Iowa

Has EDGY seen him Live? Yes multiple times since 2015 including twice in games last season.

About Jeff Jenkins: One of the key players for the Class 6A state champion Wolves. Jenkins was named as a consensus All State player in 2016 for the Wolves and head coach Chris Schremp. Jenkins also saw playing time on both sides of the football at times in 2016. Jenkins verbally committed to Iowa after drawing early offers along with early inquiries from several Power 5 programs mainly in the Big Ten.

EDGY's Take: Might be one of if not the state's most athletic big men in the Class of 2018. Jenkins played at a lean 250-255 pounds last season and has the overall frame and length to become a potential 300 pounder at the college level with very little body fat. Jenkins also has exceptional quickness and mobility, can pull well and also is always looking for the next level block. Jenkins also was impressive at the point of attack, has excellent quickness, good hands and very good feet and overall balance. Jenkins also looks to be technically very sound, seldom is off balanced and/or out of position. Uses his hands well at the high school level and also have great leverage and bend. Jenkins also to me seem to get stronger and more effective as the game wore on and seldom looked gassed.

Could improve upon: Jenkins no question will need to continue to develop physically and that includes adding more weight and strength for the college level. Jenkins always engages well but with another 15-20 pounds of muscle behind him would allow Jenkins to be ready to better handle bigger/stronger D linemen at the college level. Jenkins, like almost every high school level offensive linemen needs to improve his overall hands/punch/feet and balance along with his overall pass pro. Jenkins no question will need to over focus on his pass protection skills and fundamentals this off season since the Wolves are generally a power run/ option attack.

EDGY's Early Evaluation: This one was pretty easy for me to be honest. Jeff Jenkins was simply one of the most impressive linemen I've seen live over the past few seasons. Jenkins to me is like a new puppy....meaning that you look at Jenkins and see a young man still growing and filling out his frame. Mix in a hard nosed kid who also has a high motor, loves the game and just battles all comers and you can't help but really be excited about Jeff Jenkins over the next few years. I would rank Jenkins as a low to mid 4 star to start and is potentially a Top 5-10 recruit in the State of Illinois 2018. Iowa also has a pretty strong history of developing kid such as Jenkins into NFL caliber linemen.
