The Titans will contend for the CS8 title in '24 and likely will be the conference favorite in '25. This season, I'm less sure in where they stand. They have to replace most of their skill players, including a 2-year starting QB. Coach Hay has a choice between a Junior who is more of a running threat and a Sophomore with a big arm. They should have the most kids out in the CS8 and may again not have any 2-way starters. Like Rochester, I think the Defense will be critical to the Titans level of success. If they can get closer to the level of the '18 and '19 teams in size and athleticism, they will be hard to beat. If they are similar to the last two years, the Titans are more likely to be in the 5-6 win range.

All..... rocketnation.... Injury bug early but the Rockets have a plethora of qb's (and receivers) that function quite well in Coach Leonards offensive system. My reference of course is to Parker. I heard he had gotten banged up in practice. Confirmed last night on the Coaches preview show by Derek. Injured in a 7 on 7 game and should be back by midseason.

I missed Derek's interview as I was at the fair during the coaches show. I did walk by the area where 1450 was doing the interviews. They were interviewing the Southeast coach when I was there. Did they interview many of the CS8 coaches?

It's tough when you see key players standing on the sidelines, and Parker certainly is a major part of the offense at WR or QB. Hopefully, he is back as soon as possible. This is not the first time Rochester has had players hurt in 7 on 7's. In 2019, they lost two players for most of the season while at a 7 on 7 in Carbondale. Last year, they also lost a starting OL for the entire season with a non-football injury.

I hope the defense is as good as predicted. If nothing else, the Week 1 game against Peoria is going to answer a lot of questions very early.

All.... All except the Decatur schools and Lincoln. Some of the interviews were very short. Traffic was a mess because of the concert that evening and coaches were running late. Normal U was by phone. Ratsy

All.... Calling rocketnation. Did you make the Rochester scrimmage? I went to the black and gold tonight. The Cyclones offense looked very good but of course hard to tell in a game playing against your own defense. They scored time and again so easily I started to worry about how good the SHG defense might be this year.😆 Ratsy

I did. Looks like Rochester has about 90-95 kids out. Derek said he has 22 Seniors, almost all will start or contribute. There's a new kicker after three years of being spoiled with the accuracy of Zoe Cormier. No roster provided tonight, so I'm not sure who he is. Sideline chatter said he could be a soccer player. Anyway, he impressed with some deep kickoffs and made all his XP's and FG's.

Saw Ken Leonard who was out to watch his grandson, who is the freshman QB. The freshman class has generated a lot of buzz but looked like freshman tonight going against the JV. To get more games in, the freshman have a tough schedule and will play Edwardsville, Mahomet, and Normal Community.
