Wow what an unbelievable back and forth game. Credit to both teams for an outstanding effort!
The QB made a bad play. He is a sophomore in high school though and I forgot that as I have been watching college all day so I am editing the post as it was too harsh on a 15 year old.

One of the best championship games I’ve ever seen. Congratulations to both teams for the great effort. Hope Hissong isn’t hurt too bad.
This is common for Jack McInerney. You can really tell who he wants to win.
Cary grove coaches and players executed so well, credit to esl for stepping up in 2h but came up just short, esl way too slow on last drive but man what a game.

How can the Announcers call this the biggest upset in IHSA football? CG has always been a top program with 4 state trophies.
Agreed. The whole David vs Goliath analogy was off kilter from the start in my opinion.
The refs did not change this game. Pops should have taken his medicine and not leave anything to chance.

The sideline reporter is terrible. I don't know where they found that clown but the questions he asks and just his demeanor is just weird.
Right, like they've had no idea CG has been here 4 times and won it twice.
They read this board. I wish we could stop pretending we can eyeball teams. Football is played on the field, not in the minds of spectators.

This is why Feeto doesn’t do upsets in the finals. Every team deserved to be here. And let the kids settle it on the field.
I think most said this was going to be a good game. It wasn’t a good game, it was a great game. Hats off to CG. Good job Flyers. We played Flyers football but came up short.
The freshman tailback looks to be special too. Congrats on a great run in 21!
