It seems as of right now, Geneva and Cary Grove are in the upper bracket (again) while ESL is in the lower. When ESL loses to IMG, and assuming both Geneva and CG win out, do either/both have a chance to leap frog ESL and shake up the bracket?
Since ESL will be south and C-G/Geneva will be north, it doesn’t matter. ESL can’t be “leap frogged” by either of those two teams. It seems as of right now, Geneva and Cary Grove are in the upper bracket (again) while ESL is in the lower. In the most sarcastic way i can say this... what difference will that make?It seems as of right now, Geneva and Cary Grove are in the upper bracket (again) while ESL is in the lower. I am not sure ESL is going to lose to IMG.
looking at IMG they don’t appear to be the best version of themselves. ESL seems to be a step above previous years. I have a feeling this is going to be a close game.
How much of IMG have you watched?I am not sure ESL is going to lose to IMG.

No this is definitely not one of IMG better teams, again if only only if the O-line blocks and defense wrap up on tackles Eastside has a chance. #6 in the country is a bit of a stretch to me. I think LWE would have game them a game if they would have met week 2. Perhaps pulled it off.Cause they lost a game???
#1 in FL and #6 nationally…
Might be close but why is this not the best version of IMG?
I like the way you think Flyerforlife. No this is definitely not one of IMG better teams, again if only only if the O-line blocks and defense wrap up on tackles Eastside has a chance. #6 in the country is a bit of a stretch to me. Fun fact my Brother inlaw lives in Bradenton FL. Just a little bit of intel I get. What to you have 4Afan? How many games have you seen. What inside information do you have? Come on you must have more than reputation and what you read. How much of IMG have you watched?
Rule #1 of edgy free board: speak no ill of esl lest thou be accused of the unspeakable sins. Amen. How much of IMG have you watched?
Didn’t they recruit a QB from Chicago a few years back? Hahahaha4A you good nothing bad was said. But IMG has been to the area the last couple of years perhaps trying to recruit St. Louis metro and Chicago.
Haven't seen a thing on them, but I haven't made any claims about them.Fun fact my Brother inlaw lives in Bradenton FL. Just a little bit of intel I get. What to you have 4Afan? Think he sought them out since Illinois was stupid and didn't play football that yearDidn’t they recruit a QB from Chicago a few years back? Hahahaha
Yeah but you had to say something you know nothing about. I know you can’t help yourself.Haven't seen a thing on them, but I haven't made any claims about them.
Okay sure you go with that theory.Think he sought them out since Illinois was stupid and didn't play football that year
Well you don’t have any intel. Did you bother to even look at who they played this year. Did you look at the scores or the records?Haven't seen a thing on them, but I haven't made any claims about them.
I did. Looked at who they played and some of their players and where they're going to college.Well you don’t have any intel. Did you bother to even look at who they played this year. Did you look at the scores or the records?
Well at least you did that, you do realize it’s a team sport. 😊I did. Looked at who they played and some of their players and where they're going to college.
Governor Pritzker was the greatest recruiting tool in the quarterback's recruitment away from Illinois. Don't go flagging me for a political post. The COVID response and those who shut everything down made that recruitment all the more easy. And as a Michigan man, we are grateful he left in order to keep his skills and timing sharp.Didn’t they recruit a QB from Chicago a few years back? Hahahaha
All.... I really like that stadium . Easy in and out. Right next door in the fenced in area is a boat load of fun and sitting in the middle of Flyers fans as the game is being played is pretty cool. Ratsy. P.S, I almost forgot. After the game Big Mama's less then two minutes away....And they are playing this game in the House of Pain, Clyde C Jordan Stadium, an atmosphere that will be rocking for sure!!!
There's a high likelihood that ESL loses this game but it wouldn't matter as far as seeding...It seems as of right now, Geneva and Cary Grove are in the upper bracket (again) while ESL is in the lower. When ESL loses to IMG, and assuming both Geneva and CG win out, do either/both have a chance to leap frog ESL and shake up the bracket?
Any idea how the IHSA defines the North/South (by latitude? county?, etc). I've been creating/posting projected brackets in another thread & would update 1-6A accordingly if I know how to assign North/South.Since ESL will be south and C-G/Geneva will be north, it doesn’t matter. ESL can’t be “leap frogged” by either of those two teams.
North and south are each seeded 1-16 in class 6A and below.
Pretty sure they just take the 32 in the class, put them on a state map, then divide them into two equal groups. Strictly geographical.Any idea how the IHSA defines the North/South (by latitude? county?, etc). Thanks. Sounds like there's probably a bit of "art" to that because I could imagine East/West might also factor(i.e. a south suburban team vs. something near Iowa border).Pretty sure they just take the 32 in the class, put them on a state map, then divide them into two equal groups. I cannot say the IHSA never makes minor exceptions, but having taken a little bit of time looking at past brackets it seems to me it is done very strictly based on the latitude of the actual high school building. Take last year's 2A bracket as an example. Maroa-Forsyth High School naturally takes students from both of those communities. The football team was assigned to the northern bracket. The Athens football team was assigned to the southern bracket. Maroa is north of Athens, but Forsyth is south of Athens. Since the actual high school building for Maroa-Forsyth is located in Maroa (which is north of Athens), Maroa-Forsyth High School was assigned to the northern bracket.Any idea how the IHSA defines the North/South (by latitude? county?, etc). You are correct. If trying to predict north/south, use latitude line. It doesn’t matter if there are 8 undefeated teams in one half and none in the other.I cannot say the IHSA never makes minor exceptions, but having taken a little bit of time looking at past brackets it seems to me it is done very strictly based on the latitude of the actual high school building. For your purposes, I think your best bet is to assign the high schools to the northern or southern brackets based strictly on the latitude of the high school building.
