Impact Player for Fenwick
Fenwick 2025 OL/DL Nathaniel Marshall (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) is already a 4 star ranked recruit for Fenwick in the Class of 2025 and no question has the makings of becoming one of the most sought after names in the Midwest and the Nation. Marshall will play on both sides of the football again this fall and will be asked to lead the Friars line play and become a tone setter.
EDGY's Quick Take on the 2023 Fenwick Friars:
Fenwick and head coach Matt Battaglia posted a 5-5 overall record in 2022 as the Friars made the Class 6A state playoff field and lost to Morgan Park in opening round action. The Friars had a history 2021 season in winning the IHSA Class 5A state title, the school's first in history.
The biggest question facing Fenwick in 2023? Can the Friars find it's way to 5 wins and get back into the IHSA state playoff field and make a deep run this fall? Ther Friars will be a very strong team this fall....yet the regular season slate is brutally tough including taking on 7 out of 9 teams that made IHSA state playoffs in 2022 and includes 3 teams that won state titles (ICCP/Nazareth Academy/Mount Carmel) and another state title runner up team in Providence Catholic. I can see this being a very good Friars team...and I can also see them fight it's way to say a 6-3/5-4 regular season record...then become a very dangerous post-season team as well.
