EDGYTIM's Projected 2021 Spring Mid Suburban East Conference finish
Prospect
Hersey
Rolling Meadows
Buffalo Grove
Elk Grove
Wheeling
So Who is The One Team That Could Surprise? Rolling Meadows
It seems like every year I end up pissing off one of the Big 3 in the Mid Suburban East with a lower than they'd like prediction... and Rolling Meadows gets the overlooked award this spring. The Mustangs and head coach Sam Baker always has a hard nosed, well coached team and that won't change this spring. Yet Meadows also lost quite a bit of talent from the 2019 season and out of the Big 3 they have the most to replace including just two starter back on defense. Again the Big 3 here in my opinion are always tough and all three would be state playoff caliber teams in my opinion, yet someone has to end up in third.
Preseason Conference MVP?
Prospect senior RB/LB Luke Zardzin- Zardzin has been a varsity mainstay for the Knights since his sophomore season, and Look for Zardzin to be a major impact player once again on both sides of the football. Zardzin has had a terrific off season, has added more size, good weight and strength while also possessing excellent overall speed. I have felt all along that Zardzin is a FBS/FCS level talent and has accepted a PWO from Northern Illinois.
Sleeper Player to Watch?
Buffalo Grove junior DE/TE Trystan Anderson- Anderson, the younger brother of BG standout senior WR Aydan Anderson (Cornell) has a ton of physical upside and will be an impact name to watch this spring for the Bison on both sides of the football. Trystan Anderson has impressive length, quickness and a frame that will allow him to add considerable more weight and strength over the next few seasons. Anderson in my opinion is on the verge of becoming a much more dominant player, especailly on the Bison defensive line this spring.
Top 2021 Spring Conference Games?
Week 1 Hersey at Rolling Meadows Sat 1PM- A great opening game and early measuring stick for the remainder of the season for the Huskies and the Mustangs.
Week 3 Hersey at Prospect Friday 7:30PM- I still believe (for now) this will end up being the Mid Suburban Easy conference championship game. But hey I've been wrong once or twice before so...
Week 6 TBA- Word is this could possibly end up being a best versus best Central Suburban versus the Mid Suburban Bowl series....yet worse case scenario this ends up being a Mid Suburban Bowl matchup week. Either way it's a terrific idea.
