Casey-Westfield 7v7, Tuscola 7v7

Impact Player for ALAH

Keep an eye this summer and fall on ALAH senior OL/DL Jacob Tighe (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) for the Knights. Tighe will hit the college camp circuit this summer and has been drawing steady recruiting interest from the likes of Illinois, EIU and SIU this spring.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 ALAH Knights

ALAH and head coach Ryan Jefferson was able to answer the various questions regarding how the Knights would fare in 2023 minus 4 year All State RB Kaden Feagin (Illinois). The Knights posted a perfect 9-0 regular season record and won the Lincoln Prairie conference title. The Knights lost in the Class 2A opening round to Quincy Notre Dame to end the season at 9-1.

The biggest question for ALAH in 2024?

Can the Knights reload at a few key spots this summer along with develop much needed overall numbers and depth? This is a Knights program that has made the state playoffs in back to back seasons. Can this football program make the state playoffs again and make a deeper post-season run and this has to be the program's goal this fall and beyond. The Knights no question got a rough draw in QND (a 21-14 loss) and hopefully this time around ALAH will have more experience in big games and ready to take the next steps.

2024 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?

Byron 7 on 7
Practice with Lena-Winslow, Sycamore, and Hononegah
Scrimmage with Stillman Valley

Impact Player for Byron

Byron was simply stacked in 2023 and ran the table from Week 1 thru Week 14 in capturing the 2023 Class 3A state title and a 14-0 record setting season. Byron junior to be RB/LB Caden Considine was easily one of the best overall players in the State of Illinois last season regardless of Class. Considine, who is the son of former Byron/Iowa and NFL S Sean Considine (also a Byron assistant coach) is already drawing increased recruiting attention. Look for Considine to again basically never leave the field again for Byron in 2024.

Looking for a bit of a sleeper name to watch for Byron? Byron senior OL Nolan Brass (6-foot-3, 300 pounds) is a big, strong and physical tackle for the Tigers who will most likely move inside to OC/OG at ther college level. Brass is already college ready and his overall strength and power along with his good feet and balance are strengths in his game.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Byron Tigers

Byron has developed into an IHSA power program in smaller enrollment schools for decades now going back to Hall of Fame head coach Everett Stine who built up the program. Byron head coach Jeff Boyer has taken this program to new heights winning IHSA state football titles in 2021 and 2023 along with placing second in state in 2018 and 2019.

The biggest question for Byron in 2024?

Can the Tigers reload at a handful of key spots and win back to back Class 3A state titles? Byron's skills positions are filled with talented, speedy and athletic play makers back from a 2023 team and offense which broke the state's all time scoring record. Sophomore to be QB/DB Andrew Talbert showed the state his potential running the Tigers triple option power running game and having backs such as Caden Considine along with senior RB/DB Brayden Knoll just means more trouble ahead for all comers in 2024. Look for the tigers to again be a major threat and the hands on Top Ranked team in Class 3A in 2024.

Impact Player for Edwardsville

It's pretty simple from my perspective when having to decide on the Tigers biggest impact player for 2024. Edwardsville senior 4 star ranked DE Iose Epenesa has been on recruiting radar screens since he was an eight grader. The Epenesa name has been lock step with the Edwardsville sports program for decades now and this family has generated several high level athletes over the years including former Tiger/Iowa and now NFL DL AJ Epemesa. Iose Epenesa possesses much of the same physical tools and traits of his older brother AJ and he will continue to grow and develop at the Power 4 level.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Edwardsville Tigers

Year in and year out the Edwardsville Tigers remain one of the top overall teams in Southern Illinois as well as in the Class 8A field. The Tigers will open the 2024 season with second year head coach Kelsey Pickering. The Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 10-2 record as Edwardsville made the IHSA state playoff field for the 12th straight season and lost to York in the Class 8A state quarterfinal round. The 2024 Tigers welcome back an impressive 16 returning starters (9 offense 7 defense) and the overall talent level and numbers is always strong at Edwardsville.

The biggest question for Edwardsville n 2024?

The easy question for the Tigers is pretty much also the same question asked around Edwardsville and heck... the entire Southwestern conference....and that is can this Tigers team beat longtime rival East St. Louis in 2024 and win the Southwestern conference title? The last time the Tigers beat the Flyers was back in 2012 as Edwardsville beat East St Louis in Round 2 of the Class 8A state playoff field so needless to say it's been awhile. Beat the East Side in 2024? Again the Flyers will be stacked with talent again...and this Edwardsville program continues to be the most capable of anyone else in the Southwestern of challenging the Flyers dynasty year in and year out. If the Tigers can reload at a few key positions (QB/ILB) all the better the chances for Edwardsville in 2024,

Impact Player for Oak Lawn

Oak Lawn and fourth year head coach Ryan Pattison is looking to tuen the football program around at Oak Lawn, a football program that has struggled for years last having made the IHSA state playoffs back in 2009 and has made the IHSA state playoff field just 8 times in school history. The Spartans have posted back to back 1-8 seasons after Pattison posted a 4-5 season in 2021.

The Spartans will be a very young team in 2024, so keep an eye on returning starters in senior RB Ryan Young Klinger along with junior OL Faris Quantinani and senior DL Christen Reinhardt as key impact players for the Spartans in 2024.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Oak Lawn Spartans

Oak Lawn has remained down for several seasons and you can certainly point towards several factors in the program's lack of sustained success. The Spartans play in a very strong South Suburban Red conference. The school's demographics have also changed quite a bit over the years plus the school is located truly in the middle of several big time Catholic schools powers recruiting territory (Brother Rice/St Rita/St Laurence/Marist/Mount Carmel just to name a few). Keeping kids at home has always been a big key for Oak Lawn and they have yet to truly swing the mindset back to keeping kids home.

The biggest question for OakLawn in 2024?

Can the Spartans get a big season from several key underclassmen and begin to build up the lower levels? Oak Lawn has always seemed to struggle with overall numbers along with having a limited talent base to drw from over the years. Look for head coach Ryan Pattison to continue to work his program and hopefully will begin to make positive strides starting this fall.

Impact Player for Elmwood Park

Elmwood Park and head coach Terrance Terry had a rough season in 2023 posting a 2-7 record, but the positive from last season is that the Tigers played a ton of underclassmen and welcome back quite a bit of experience back this fall. Elmwood Park junior QB Matthew Fritz (6-foot-2, 175 pounds) is a name to watch fore the Tigers.

Also looking for a bit of a sleeper name in 2024? Keep an eye on junior to be junior TE Daniel Ponce (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) is an athletic receiver who will continue to get bigger and stronger over the next few seasons.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Elmwood Park Tigers

Elmwood Park and head coach Terrance Terry posted a 2-7 record in his first season leading the Tigers football program. Elmwood Park will also leave the Chicagoland Prairie conference and enter the Upstate 8 conference for this fall. The schedule will not get any easier with this move, but hopefully the Tigers are much more experienced this fall and can show well in Year 1.

The biggest question for Elmwood Park in 2024?

Do the Tigers have enough overall numbers and depth to compete against larger schools in the Upstate 8 week in and week out? Taking on the likes of Glenbard East, Glenbard South and others will no question challenge the programs depth this season/.

Impact Player for Oak Forest

Oak Forest and head coach Anthony Malopsy has several experienced starters back in 2024 and look for several names to emerge this summer and fall. However, senior OLB/DE Osato Odiase is a name to watch here for Oak Forest this coming season. Odiase, who has been playing football for just two seasons has a ton of growth and potential ahead of him. Odiase could definitely wind up becoming a higher level recruit name to watch.

Also looking for a bit of a sleeper name in 2024? Keep an eye on junior to be QB Daniel Chopp who did a nice job of running the Bengals offense in 2023 and who still has two seasons of varsity football remaining.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Oak Forest Bengals

Oak Forest and head coach Anthony Malopsy are looking to rebound from a 2-7 record in 2023. The Bengals played a tom of younger kids last season and welcome back 17 returning starters from a season ago. The Bengals 2-7 record could have also been say 4-5/5-4 with a break here or there and Oak Forest was in four of those 7 losses.

The biggest question for Oak Forest in 2024?

Can the Bengals crack the top tier of the South Suburban Blue this fall and also find it's way to 5 wins?. The South Suburban Blue top tier programs are strong led by power Lemont along with Hillcrest and TF South are traditional conference powers ...while TF North had a surprisingly strong season in 2023 and many feel the Meteors will be strong again this fall. The Bengals will also get seriously tested in non conference play (Marmion Academy and Sandburg) and a win in one of those two games is a big key as well to a potential winning season this fall.

Senior RB/LB Nick Johnson (5-foot-9, 160 pounds) will be asked to provide leadership and production on both sides of the football and his season will be a key for the Chargers in 2024.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Illini West Chargers

The Titans and then first year head coach Jacob Calvin just missed makin g the IHSA state playoff field in 2023, dropping a heartbreaking Week 9 29-26 loss to Moweuqua A&M that kept the Titans home for the playoffs. With a roster stacked with experience back for the season, look for the Chargers to be highly motivated to return to the IHSA state playoff field along with being in contention in the Lincoln Trail/Prairieland Large conference title in 2024,

The Titans welcome back a strong core of experienced returning starters for the 2024 season. Senior OL/DL Alec Easley (6-foot-7, 225 pounds) is a name to watch for the Titans who will draw increased recruiting attention this summer and fall. Also senior RB/LB Zebulon Rashid is also an impact two way starter who will again be relied upon for the 2024 season.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Annawan Wethersfield Titans

Can the Titans continue to win and make the post-season in 2024 for the 16th straight season? Annawan Wethersfield and head coach Tony Gripp has continued to get the Titans into the post-season and tnis program is a consistent winner in the Class 1A field. With 14 returning starters back this season (7 offense 7 defense) look for the Titans to again challenge for as conference title and it's 17th straight state playoff appearance in 2024.

- Nigel is a good sized (5-foot-11, 165 pounds) corner who also has good speed and cover skills. I also loved how Nigel kept coming back for more and more reps here. Will no question draw more looks and attention this summer in one day camps.

DE Blaise Chin 2025- Good sized (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) defensive end type who has good speed and strength, was able to show well in positional work and I'm excited to see more on him this summer and then also see his fall video.

QB Connor Gregory 2025- Seems like I've been watching Connor throwing a football forever lol. Connor, the son of QB Farm Steve Gregory is a big, strong kid (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) who has continued to improve each time I see him live. Like every QB here it took him a bit to get used to the receivers not from OE, but overall I felt he did just fine here.

WR/S Andy Pohlman 2025 Tall lanky kid here who showed to have good hands and ball skills. Listed at a very solid 6-foot-3, 170 pounds and this is a kid who can also add a bit more muscle down the line as well.

WR Lincoln Ijams 2026 An underclassmen name to watch here. Lincoln has been to some camps and I believe I've seen him twice live now. Both times he impressed me with his hands, speed and his ability to get separation from the opposing defensdive back.

TE/DE Kenneth Hines 2026 Another interesting 2026 name to watch. Kenneth is listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds and is a nice mix of power and qioickness and a player who ran good routes and showed good hands as well.

Willowbrook

WR/DB KJ Rhodes 2025
- I liked KJ's 2023 video a ton especially on defense. Rhodes played a safety but has the size and look as more of a cover corner at the next level. A bit undersized at 5-foot-8, 160 pounds but don't let that fool you....Rhodes has impressive instincts in coverage, makes great reads and is a major hitter and finisher. Has a real chance at playing at a higher level in college as a corner.

TE/H/WR Santino Whitehead 2026 "Bam" is a big strong, physical kid who has a lot to offer. Plays some DE along with TE and is listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Will no question get bigger and stronger over the next two seasons and I'm really interested to see his development in 2024.

Wheaton St Francis

RB Tyvonn Ransom 2025
- Ty has been on my radar from some time now/ Ransom is just an impressive all around football player listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds. Ransom is an every down back who shows good speed outside along with more than capable of catching the football out of the backfield. Runs strong, gets up to speed quickly and has a nice downfield gear ans is hard to catch. I have Ransom as a D1/FCS level prospect.

QB Jack Reilly 2025 - The Spartans are going to have one heck of a QB battle and expect Jack Reilly (6-foot-1 1/2 195 pounds) to be in the thick of that battle. Reilly, who returned to St Francis for this fall has a strong arm with great touch while also being a very strong runner who no question is a dual threat. Reilly just carries himself with confidence and just seems to make every throw required. Has higher level FCS level ability in my opinion.

DB Seth Valari 2025 Transferred into St Francis this past winter from Wisconsin and Valari is holding a handful of D1 offers this spring. Valeri is a good sized defensive back who has the tools to play either corner or safety. Valeri tracks the football well, has a good feel and instinct for the football and has the speed and closing ability to be a pus in run support as well.

WR Ian Willis 2025 Another just quality athlete and player here for the Spartans. Willis is a dangerous inside slot receiver and also a very solid running back. Willis has great speed and is a fluid route runner. Willis can and will also play defensive back and is truly a jack of all trades here. I'm still a bit stunned that more schools haven't pick things up with him this spring. Willis speed is legit along with his ability to make big plays.

WR/S Tanner Glock 2026 - See above. The Spartans have to have on3e of the most stacked roster loaded with athletic and highly accomplished receivers who can just make play after play. Glock saw quite a bit of playing time in 2023 and looks to be getting better each time I see him live.

OL/DL Brady Hill 2025 Pretty solid overall two way starting linemen for the Spartans here, Hill (6-foot-2 1/2 275 pounds) has gotten a bit stronger and leaner from a season ago. I really like Hill as a DT and can and will draw double teams on most downs yet still finds a way to beat double teams regularly.

WR Dario Milivojevic 2026- The younger brother of Alessio Milivojevic (Michigan State) is a terrific slot receiver type who is coming off a strong varsity season in 2023, Dario is listed at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and has really good speed, hands and overall instincts and ball skills are at a high level. Milivojevic is already drawing recruiting looks and offers and he will continue to be a highly productive slot for the Spartans.

TE Gavin Mueller 2026 Maybe the biggest sleeper in the Class of 2026 in Illinois? It's very possible. Listed at a legit 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, Mueller played Hoops only for the past two seasons but is now back to football for this coming season. Mueller is highly athletic, runs well and has Power 4 physical tools, upsidie and potential. I've seen both top 2026 TE's JC Anderson and Mack Sutter live in person....and Mueller on the hoodf is just as impressive. I fully expect more offers to roll in here and look for Power 4 schools to engage with him early this fall.

QB Brady Palmer 2026 Brady is another big time signal caller in the 2026 class and he is also in a battle for the starting QB jon this summer. Palmer is listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, has been highly impressive every time I see him live and has the look and feel of a big time quarterback. All that's missing is varsity seat time.....and if Palmer can win the starters job look out...nothing but huge upside here.

WR Zach Washington 2026 Zach is already adding offers including hisn latest from Wisconsin. Washington has the great combination of size, , great reach and length along with having very good hands and speed, I'm also impressed with Washington's ability to just go get the football and outfight all comers. Washington is listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds and I can see him getting to the 190-200 pound mark sooner than later. Major D1 level talent here.

DB James McGrath 2027 Highly advance kid here. Was very impressive in positional and drill work and has a nice combination of physical tools and coverage skills. Listed at 6-foot-0, 170 pounds and James will just get bigger and stronger from here on out.

DB Issac Saldana 2027- Speedy and athletic cover corner who I was impressed with playing for Boom 7on7 this winter. Listed as a DB at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and Issac can play either corner or safety equally well. Has great ball skills and just seems to always get in between the receiver and the football. Young guy with a lot of upside here.

New: My Take West Suburban Showcase Glenbard South Part 1

Part 1 My Take: West Suburban Showcase @ Naperville North

Glenbard South

DL Saif Kokozska 2025
- Saif has been a camp regular since his sophomore season so I've seen him a ton. Saif is finally starting to add more good weight and muscle (6-foot-3, 240 pounds) and he has a terrific motor and might be one of the kids who wants to play in college the most in this class. One day camps will be huge this summer for Saif and I can see him at the FCS/D2 level.

TE/WR/OLB Joey Villa 2025- Another good sized athlete here (6-foot-4, 190 pounds) who has some potential at the next level. Still a bit of a tweener positionally in my mind but summer on3 day camps will no question determine his positional path.

RB Taiwain Davis 2025- Speedy, somewhat twitchy athlete who showed good speed , stop/start ability and looked pretty explosive in positional drill work as well. A name to watch here for sure in 2024.

OL Josh Schwendeman 2026- Another really impressive underclassmen name here who still has a ton of growth and development ahead. Listed at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds and played last season at 205 pounds...Josh has a big frame, broad shoulders and will no question be able to add and handle another 40-50 plus pounds and play as a OT at the high college level. Has good feet, balance and is very fluid yet is still very much a work in progress. Huge upside here in my opinion.

Downers Grove North

TE/LB Joe Edwards 2025
WR Charlie Cruse 2025

RB/LB Jack Gregorio 2025
QB Owen Lansu 2026
OL Anthony Bertachi 2026

For more on these players Visit the 2024 Silver Showcase Breakdown

WR/DB Oliver Thulin 2026 Played well in 2023 and had a much bigger role than I expected. Thulin is a multi sport athlete who has good overall tools, quickness and speed. I was also impressed with his hads, body control and fearlessness last season making the toiugh catches over the middle look routine.

OL/DL Aiden Solecki 2026 Another big body young OL/DL for the Trojans here. Solecki is listed as an OL/DL and I can see him developing into a possible rush end down the line. Still needs to add much more weight/strength but he has the frame and build to handle much more weight.

Downers Grove South

WR/DB Coen Goddenschwager 2025

DL/TE James Pieropulos 2025
QB Dominic West 2025

For more on these players visit the 2024 Silver Showcase Breakdown

WR/DB Keon Maggitt 2025- Good size and length here....also runs well and was just very solid in positional work as well as in limited one on one reps. Summer camp circuit could bring Keon Maggtt more looks/attention.

RB/DB Kayden Smith 2025 Listed at 5-foot-9, 175 pounds and looks the part of a speedy and hard running tailback. Showed pretty good spee, change of direction and explosiveness while also having pretty good strength. Also loved his competitiveness here.

Glenbard East

RB Teryn Hatter 2025
- Impressive looking athlete here. Listed at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds and looks the part and passes the eye ball test in person no question.

WR Amonte Cook 2025 Lighting quick speedy slot type back here. Is compact built, has very good strength and change of direction and he will be a ton to handle and corral in the open field no question. Looks a bit undersized listed at 5-foot-7, 160 pounds but his speed and burst and wiggle will be tempting for schools to take a chance on next fall.

Look for the remaining teams in Part 3

2024 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?

Mahomet Seymour Lineman Challenge and 7 on 7

Impact Player for Centralia

The Orphans (still easily one of the Top 10 most unique school nicknames in my opinion) welcome back several key starters from the 2023 season along with some top level impact names as well. Centralia senior RB/LB Keaton Morgan (6-foot-1, 165 pounds) will be the lead back and his overall production will be needed on both sides of the football this fall. Also senior OC Gavin Berry (6-foot-3, 335 pounds) has been drawing various recruiting looks this winter and spring amd Berry has the overall size and frame to play at the college level.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Centralia Orphans

The biggest question for Centralia in 2024? Can the Orphans on the offensive side of the football find a way to replace graduated starting QB Daryle Jones overal, production this season? Jones was an impressive true dual threat running the Orphans shotgun soread attack over the past two seasons and his ability to run the football along with his passing ability was high level. Another big question is can the Orphans experienced defense step up and play much improved football from a season ago? The Centralia defense gave up way too many big points and big plays in 2023 and if this team plans to get back in to the post-season this fall....I look for the defense to make big strides this summer.

Preseason Ranking? Wait and see...nothing preseason ranking for now.

2024 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?

University of Illinois 7 on 7, Metamora 7 on 7, Chatham Glenwood 7 on 7, Sterling HS for 7 on 7 and hosting 1 night of 7 on 7 in July

Impact Player for Mt Zion

It's pretty simple when looking for a potential impact player or two for Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion senior WR Brayden Trimble is a Power 4 recruit who is holding multiple scholarship offers this spring. Trimble will be asked to again be a key player in all three phases of the game in 2024. Mt. Zion junior 4 star ranked TE JC Anderson is a multiple sport athlete who is also a Power 4 recruit and is now holding scholarship offers from literally every major national power program in the nation this spring. Anderson will play tight end again while also being capable of playing multiple other positions when needed. I'm guessing Anderson will see more time on defense as well in 2024.

Also looking for a bit of a sleeper name in 2024? Keep an eye on junior to be WR/DB Jacob Harvey (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) who has a chance to be the next D1 name from Mt. Zion.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Mt Zion Braves

It's been a strong run at Mt. Zion for head coach Patrick Etherton who has the gotten the Braves into the IHSA state playoff field for 5 straight seasons and 6 out of the last 7 playoff seasons. The Braves will welcome back a handful of high power talents while also hoping to fill a handful of key holes left due to graduation.

The biggest question for Mt. Zion in 2024?

Can the Braves reload at a few key positions including quarterback and on the defensive line? Mt. Zion got a big 2023 senior season from soon to be graduated QB Makobi Adams. The Braves seem to have a handful of in house names ready to step up including sophomore QB Keller Stocks (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) who played well on the sophomore level in 2023. If the Braves can settle on a quarterback who can get the ball into the playmakers handws...all will be good in Mt. Zion in 2024.

Preseason Ranking? Preseason Class 4A Top 10 consideration

My Take: West Suburban Showcase @ Naperville North

Reminder: This story is a work in progress....I should hgave this completed by Friday AM and once this is completed this message will be removed. Please do NOT share on social media. Thanks

So Wednesday we had the first ever West Suburban Showcase which was held in two different locations at separate times and was organized by Naperville North HC Sean Drendel and Glenbard South HC Ryan Crissey. The thought behind this event was to bring several kids together in one spot (Ok two) for college coaches to see and evaluate in person.

The early session began at 6:30AM at Naperville North and featured top prospects from Naperville North. Naperville Central. Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley plus Metea Valley and DeKalb.....or the DVC schools if you will.

The later AM session at Glenbard South featured the Raiders along with Glenbard East, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South plus Oswego East and Wheaton St Francis and Willowbrook.

The event overall? Overall this was a well run and well organized camp. The same issues I've faced along with The Good Game and Boom for our spring showcase camps (this coming Tuesday FYI) for the past three years the coaches also faced.....such as the camps generally not open to Power 4 schools (cloudy compliance issues for them etc) along with the various portal issues that are still impacting high school recruiting in a big way (meaning? very limited offers available). Also this event was given IHSA approval but as these grow and gain momentum.....potential weather issues and could/would IHSA shut these down for4 various reasons? Regardless give Sean and Ryan a ton of credit for moving this forward in a positive way and fingers crossed this can continue next spring and beyond.

So Who Stood Out?

Naperville North Early AM Session

Naperville North

QB Jacob Bell 2025
- Bell is alredy holding several D1 offers and several MAC schools have stepped up recently. I expect Jacob Bell to be committed sooner rather than later and he offers great physical tools, room for more growth and upside at the next level. Bell also has great leadership traits and just carries himself well at all times.

WR Nick Manzardo 2025- A sure handed receiver who also runs good, disciplined routes and just always seems to make the harder catch look easy.

WR Ian MacConnachie 2025- Ian's got some wheels and legit speed here...and was able to show his ability to use his hands consistently well to catch the football. Has room to grow and add more size/muscle at the next level. I see Ian as a high FCS level recruit.

DB Kaiser Williams 2025- The biggest question facing Kaiser this spring is the same questions college coaches have...what position will he play in college? Williams has a ton of physical tools and upside, crushes the eyeball test and he has the ability to develop into a strong player at the college level. Position? I say football player :)

DL Donovan Howard 2025- Nice interior defensive linemen who has some speed and quickness.

OL Austin Roush 2025 - Another decent sized interior OL who was very active in positional work, moves well and also has good strength and quick hands.

OL Jake Kedziora 2025- Big kid who is listed at 6-foot-6, 325 pounds and was able to fare pretty well in positional work. Will need to cut a bit more weight for the higher college level but he has the length to draw more attention this fall in a very light tackle class.

TE Garrett Kristle 2025- Had some really nice catches in one on ones and showed very good hands. Garrett will be more of a traditional hand in the dirt TE who looks to be a capable blocker and his ball skills are pretty strong.

DT Gabriel Hill 2026- Listed at 6-foot-2, 255 pounds and this was the first time I've seen Gabe since the 2023 season. Hill is now leaner, quicker and his overall strength and power has jut gotten better. His first step, twitch and explosiveness is impressive and his leverage and bend along with his hand usage just remains high level. Gabe is already an in demand Power 4 recruit.

Naperville Central

K Logan Ellison 2025
One of two kickers at this event...and Logan was really strong all day. Showed to have a very strong and accurate leg, was able to also show his ability to place kicks where he wanted them to go basically.

QB Sebi Hayes 2025- Big, strong kid with a very strong arm as well. Sebi has been dealing with various injuries over the past year plus and once he catches a break he looks pretty capable of big things in 2024,. Sebi was also pretty impressive in various drill/testing and is athletic enough to draw looks as say a TE/DE as well?

LB Aaron Nussbaum 2025 Both Aaron and his twin brother Daniel are very solid players who run well, showed good overall instincts in coverage and will be big time play makers again this fall for the RedHawks.

LB Daniel Nussbaum 2025 Like his twin brother Aaron, Daniel also measures in at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds and has a ton of upside and potential.

DE Jake Stanish 2025 Easily one of the better players at this event. Stanish, who earlier in the day worked out for and added an offer from Cincinnati is now holding nearly a dozen offers. Stanish has impressive size, frame and will continue to add more good weight and strength from here on out. Stanish is still improving his overall technique and pass rush tools but this kid will be a potential difference maker in 2024 and beyond.

WR Deshaun Williams 2025- Been a fan of Deshaun when I saw him as a freshman at St Francis. Williams has really good size (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) and strength and can go get the football as well as any receiver in the 2025 class. Williams, who also has great ball skills is in line for a big season and look for more offers to potentially follow this coming summer camp season.

DeKalb

DE Justice O'Neal 2025
- Interesting looking athlete and a name to watch for sure. Listed as 6-foot-4, 190 pounds has some quickness and a frame that will add more strength and bulk down the line.

DL JJ Piniera 2025- Strong interior DL who has a nice combination of a quick first step, strength and good hand usage while also having some pass rush moves.

WR Davon Grant 2026- Maybe the best looking overall prospect I saw on Wednesday. Grant is listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds and is already college ready physically. Grant has basketball tools including strong hand/eye coordination along with hops and strong hands. Grant runs well, is a very fluid athlete who can develop into a potential major player down the line. Big time player and athlete here.

WR Derrion Straughter 2026 - Another long, lanky and pretty athletic receiver here listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds. I'm not sure just how good or not the Barbs will be in 2024....but I do know they have some serious dudes this spring.

Metea Valley

OL Okiki Oyekanmi 2025
- Big guy is listed at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds and a kid who I feel still has room to grow, get stronger along with just polish up his overall technique. Moves well, showed good footwork and was overall pretty athletic for a big guy in drill/positional work. A name again to watch here for the growing 2026 class.

Neuqua Valley

OL/DL Ryan Mascari 2025
- I've been watching Ryan since his sophomore year when he played tight end on the varsity for the Wildcats. I always felt that Mascari had the frame, length and overall down the line potential to develop into a very solid OL and that seems to be his path this summer. Mascari is now up to 6-foot-4, 240 pounds and I feel could wind up at say 270 plus pounds and become a very strong high FCS offensive guard. Ability wise I can see Mascari having a higher ceiling, but in this day and age of portal,,,a higher level FCS would be more willing to develop a kid with this upside.

DB Andrew Hoffman 2026- Another name to watch in the 2026 class here. Andrew had a very good 2023 season and I can see him once again being an impact player on both sides of the football. Has good length and quickness, will get bigger and stronger down the line as well.

OL Max Schueneman 2027- Very hard to believe this 6-foot-4, 305 pounds OL is just a freshman....but he is. Max had a pretty impressive showing here and was able to show his already developed skill set while also having the look of a kid who will continue to get bigger, stronger and better. I was impressed with his feet, balance and bend while also having a bit of an idea of what to do with his hands. Seems like a pretty smart and mature kid for his age and a name who has some serious upside.

Waubonsie Valley

QB Colin Ford 2026
- Overall I thought Colin Ford has been pretty good the few times I've seen him live. Ford is a bit bigger than I remember (6-foot-4, 205 pounds) and he throws a pretty solid football. Ford also looked to have decent touch on his short/medium passes.

OL/DL Stephan Popov 2025_ I've seen Stephan a few different times now in person and this spring he's a bit bigger and stronger (6-foot-3, 270 pounds) than last season. Popov has nice feet and decent quickness and also is advanced in his hand usage and hand fighting. Plays with a bit of a nasty when needed which I always love to see.
