You’re right. I edited my post prior to your response. In 2015 JCA beat Naz in the regular season in a wild affair. 38-35 I believe. Naz got revenge in playoffs. Roadrunners have been quite the thorn in JCA’s side going 7-1 vs JCA in the last 10 years.
There are many more examples of it being 42-0 at halftime in most playoff games though but good stats I didn’t knowI mean, that's definitely hyperbole. I won't dispute that most of the lower end playoff qualifiers likely don't match up well with JC or many of the 5A traditional powers so there are plenty of lopsided examples as well. But there are lots of examples of good JC teams being tripped up by real good (and even some merely slightly above average) public school teams.
21...Semifinal close call escape over Richmond-Burton
19....Quarterfinal Loss to Mascoutah
12....Quarterfinal last play 2PC stop to hang on by 1 over LWW
10...Quarterfinal loss to Richwoods
06,,,,,Round 1 loss to Morris
05......Quarterfinal loss to Morris
03...Quarterfinal close call escape over Morris
02....2nd round close call escape over Riverside-Brookfield
01...Quarterfinal all timer over Riverside-Brookfield and close call escape over Morris in the final
00....Semifinal great last minute win over Pontiac and come from behind final win over Metamora
99....Quarterfinal Morris missed knocking JC off by a missed FG as time expired
2 of our better squads over the last 15 years lost to fairly nondescript public school teams. Then there were all those examples of close calls where just a few plays either way and JC finds themselves losing to a public school team.
Those horns and miss potty mouth lolThanks McCaravan
Some of us understand how to be humble in a win and appreciate sportsmanship. Some don’t. I like the game and someone has to win or lose. East has been very successful in the largest class in the state. Playing in the Semifinals or Final just about every year They will regroup and be back next year. This is a proud program and community.
I just hope they get rid of the horns! 😂
Good luck next weekend. 👍
That's going to be interesting. If we can make the qb uncomfortable.I tend to agree, but they will need to finish it off next Saturday afternoon
The difference here is downplaying JCA's chances against Naz is based on recent results. When was the last time JCA beat Naz? I'm guessing it's 2015. That was Julian Love's Sr. year. JCA won the regular season matchup and lost to Naz in the playoffs. It's been awhile.I see you’re using the @tuccs reverse psychology approach.
DoubtfulAny chance this game will eventually be posted on Youtube?
I tend to agree, but they will need to finish it off next Saturday afternoonPlaying IMG tight and playing this consistent all year. Phenomenal year and clearly the undeniable best team in state.
Dana Howard was the Blue Chipper on 1989, Kenny Dunn at WR, Rollie Nevilles at QB. East Side Blasted St. Louis Sumner first game of the season 39-6. Sumner won Missouri 5A State Championship in a rout. East Side punished Harvey Thornton in the State Final 55-8, which was a State record which stood until East Side Beat Prairie Ridge 2022. On another note, I was not inferring that East Side 1989 was the next best team in the Metro East, only that they were the next best East Side squad.EastSide 1989 was Jerry Creer, Chris Moore and Homer Bush season. DAMN - I forget he QB. I know Lester was t Lincoln. That year, we lost the opener to Hazelwood East - last minute pick six. They were #5 USA Today. I am still not sure where ESL claims national title then. The Post D, ranked HE 1, ESL 2 and Althoff 3 due to our loss to HE.
1990 and 1991 was documented by The Right Kind of Heroes by Kevin Horigan.
They might get to lose to MC next time. And lose to Loyola again and again and again 😍 🤣
Yes, it will! Thank God!!!! I wonder if BR will petition to 7A next year. Will be interesting to see MC in 8A the next few years.
Shhhh! LolI see you’re using the @tuccs reverse psychology approach.
I don’t think fans realize how distracting that horn is for both teams. Thanks McCaravan

Another random fact...Richards came to ESL and beat ESL 7-6 in the semis in '13. Since then they have played 4x in the playoffs (all at CCJ) and ESL has outscored them 233-0.Other fun facts... LAs last playoff loss was to Lockport in 2021 in the championship game. MC hasn't lost to a public school in the playoffs since the Nubin game in 201*8. Batavia has only lost to two teams in the playoffs the last 7 years (Naz and MC). ESL hasn't lost in the playoffs to a team (not counting the FF season) not called CG or MC since 2014.
I see you’re using the @tuccs reverse psychology approach.Naz don’t need no luck, unfortunately for my beloved Hilltoppers I think naz is gonna beat them by atleast a couple of touchdowns but will see, definitely gonna be a physical game!
