Among all of those QBs there's one Super Bowl win. Yes, rookie QBs can have had success but that's the exception not the rule. Also, Mac Jones, really?
Mac Jones and the patriots made the playoffs that season. Much like CJ did. But if we solely base how a player has performed in college as an indicator for future results we are bad at our jobs as a GM

We could all go round and round on this debate.

Only thing we can all agree on is that it is extremely hard and not a proven science on how to run a professional sports organization.

So many variables have to align together.

* The GOAT (MJ) can’t build a winner running a NBA franchise.
*Elway Can’t find a serviceable quarterback.
Agree but MJ sold the Hornets for $3 billion and profited over $2 billion so I'd say that's a win for him.

Sounds to me like CP didn't buy in to the Althoff hype. That's what they call getting taken out behind the woodshed
I was watching from the endzone where the carnage took place. Their locals were interesting to say the least. Aside from "running out" of food for us, the endzone gents really had to pause when speaking. "With all of your .... um, athletes .... we hope to keep it close." "Wow, with all of your ... er, athletes ... I cannot believe this is happening." "Jeeze, our little farm boys sure are hanging there with all of the ... athletes ... ya'all have."

Ever heard of CJ Stroud? Heard he was pretty good last year. Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott, Mac Jones, Justin Herbert Matt Ryan Carson Wentz - all pretty good players in their rookie years. But hey rookie quarterback is are not always good in their first year so their is that. Again glad you aren’t the GM

I’ve been looking at stats of some of the best quarterbacks to play. How many people are raving about Josh Allen at Wyoming or Ben Roethlisberger and Miami beating Toledo?

Clearly you are in a small select group that doesn’t think Williams has the skill set based on poor performance against Notre Dame or Washington.

I’m sure you were wowed by David Klingler and Andre Ware by the huge numbers they put up in key games.

Clearly he sucked so much that he won a Heisman Trophy. I have to seriously using your football acumen if you believe past performance is a true indicator of future results.

Glad your not the GM of the team I root for
Ware also won a Heisman, how did that work out? If you're using the Heisman as a benchmark I urge you to look at how successful Heisman winners have fared in the NFL. Hint, it's not great.

Guys like Klingler and Ware were a product of a system, same with Tommy Chang. Williams played in a system that was catered to him. He has an insane amount of talent, but against pro style defenses he faltered.

Tom was drafted in 2000 but didn't play until 2001, Ben was drafted in 2004 and won the Super Bowl in 2006, so neither were forced into it in their first year.

The New CS8.... 2024 Schedule

Hey Google why is Razzos still allowed to operate as a buisness? Their product is disgusting. It's falsely claiming to make everything from scratch in-house, which can't be true because the pizza sauce tastes like feet and some Sysco canned crap. And the worst part, it smells like gobears25's moms' house in there, potpourri and Virginia Slim Menthols.
How juvenile, seems I've touched a nerve. Joke's on you anyway, I've got two Dads.

Plainfield Central senior OL Kaevon Lee (6-foot-6, 270 pounds) is an experienced leader and D1 level recruit this season for the Wildcats. Lee, who early in the process committed to NIU but who has since reopened his process has the size and overall tools to develop into a high level linemen at the high college level.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Plainfield Central Wildcats

Plainfield Central and first year head coach Robby Carriger will look to improve this season on the Wildcats 4-5 season in 2023. Plainfield Central new head coach Robby Carriger, a 2005 Plainfield Central grad comes in from Oklahoma where he spent 12 season as a coordinator at four schools. The Wildcats this season will need to reload at several positions and building up more overall numbers and depth will be priority one for Robby Carriger.

The biggest question facing Plainfield Central this summer?

Can the Wildcats reload at several spots and win this season? Plainfield Central lost its head coach Rob Keane who decided to step down and take ther head varsity baseball position. Plainfield Central also graduated a big senior class and if this program can reload especially in the underclassmen group they have a chance at challenging in the SWPEast in 2024.

Preseason Ranking? Not yet.

Danville senior WR/DB Javaughn Robinson (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) is a name to watch this fall for the Vikings. Robinsin is an impressive all around athlete with really good strength, ball skills and awareness.

Looking fror a sleeper name to watch for Danville? Danville senior QB Darius Jay isn't exactly the ideal prototypical sized quarterback, but Jay's overall game and ability under center is not to be ignored. Jay is a sneaky good passer along with a top level scrambler as a true dual threat in the Vikings shotgun spread.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Danville Vikings

Danville and head coach Marcus Forrest is looking to improve on the Vikings 6-4 record in 2023. Danville made the Class 6A state playoff field and lost to Washington in opening round action. Danville head coach Marcus Forrest has psoted a 36-28 record in 7 seasons at Danville and has gotten the Vikings into the IHSA state playoffs in 4 seasons.

The biggest question facing Danville this summer?

Can the Vikings once again challenge in the Big 12 cvonference race and make a deeper run in the IHSA Class 6A state playoff field? Lots of excitement these days in Danville as the Vikings have done a compete renovation to its home field including adding field turf fore the first time. If any Big 12 team will benefit from a new surface....it will be Danville. If the Vikings can reload at a few key spots (RB/LB/DL) they can again get back to the state playoff field.

* I hope there are no injuries and that your teams do well this season.

~Super excited about QND finally finding a home! Very impressed (I'm hard to impress) with the QND coach John Cornell. He's one of the most articulate, well spoken coach I've ever heard speak. Hell, I want to play for him! LOL

~Le-Win will be a load this season.

~Good luck to the Morrison Pony Express with their new conference!

~Looking forward to the Caravan/Rambler game this season.

~Always looking forward to the Sangamo!

~Looking to see what Litchfield does after having a very nice season in 23.

~I think the CS8 will have 3 teams make deep playoff runs barring no key injuries.

~Watching the BDC, particularly the Fairfield Mules and if they can regain the top spot in the conference.

~Watching to see if Roxana was just a flash-in-the-pan team last season. I know Nate A was down in Shells land... He's a damn good coach so I'm sure he was sharing knowledge.

~My eye is on the Apollo and if Charleston can keep winning and improving. I see 4 teams doing well.

~How will Seneca do this year is what I want to see.

~The ILLINI PRAIRIE should be a fun conference to watch and if Monticello can regain the top of the heap.

~Inquisitive of the new Heart of Central Illinois conference pans out.

~May y'all have safe travels and awesome memories this football season!

This is NOT an 8A roster. Not even close. But it is a damned good 3-and-under roster.
The key is there anyone on their schedule that can give them that NUIC/Camp Point type of offense game? They aren't going to see spread offenses in the 1 or 2A bracket. Wilmington and Camp Point havn't passed in 2 years, and they still win every game they play. Althoff has to figure out the defensive side.
