If I'm Marist I'm fine with playing LA anytime. Gotta beat them all eventually, might as well do it now. If Fitz has a good game for LA, I don't see Marist winning. If they can slow him down, it's anyones ballgame. Should be a good one.

Yeah not sure exactly all the details, but they have lost a lot of their base.
They used to get kids from St. Anne who has 8 man now. Kankakee has been trending up and seems like they are keeping most of their kids. B-B has had moderate success. They used to get a good player or two every couple years from Wilmo back in the 80s and 90s. That doesn’t happen much anymore if at all. I think Manteno is keeping most of their kids.

Growing up nearby, I can attest that this small rural town just loves a diverse crowd of opposing team fans coming through! Nothing warms their hearts more than seeing new faces in unfamiliar jerseys—especially when it means giving up parking spots and seating. You'll feel their overwhelming hospitality the moment you set foot here.

All... The same for SHG in 05 and 06 when the Cycs ran the board both seasons. They played Mac both years in the postseason. Very difficult games especially the road game to Kankakee. They always had that one stud rb which was hard to stop. I was lucky enough on an early arrival to that road game getting to talk with then HC Coach Zinanni. A great coach and a pretty cool dude. I’ve seen more of Marist than LA - Marist has a good one in McAuliffe, a solid line and Ritter has been good. Is 88/Brown playing ? I know he a D1 Basketball recruit. LA really seems to have found their stride.

The small town pride and pregame ritual will be a very good experience for the MOPA team.
Win or lose they will likely look back on the day very fondly.

THE SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE made the rule so that the Flyers would not be in the same class as their other teams, meaning, East, West, Edwardsville and formerly Collinsville and Granite City. Before the ruling, ESL ALWAYS petitioned to 7A.

Fear of playing ANY school in IL - or the nation - is nowhere in that equation. Will they always win? Nope. Will they have a puncher's chance every year, YUP! Mount Carmel and Loyola to start the past two years, they were 1-1 and the loss was a last possession game to MC. Tip the cap!

You think MC or ESL would not survive 8A? Look at Edgy's top 30 ... year in and year out. See where MC (and LA, who FLYER WHOOPED) are right now in that end-of-the-year mix. If ESL was included in that calculus, at what position would they be sitting?

Your buddy is ill informed and id advise you not to put too much stock in to anything he says. Just reading your posts, I can tell not much thought was put in to his response.

I find it hard to believe that H-F and Thornton did not even make the Best of the Rest list, while Marshall, Robeson, and Morgan Park did. I can see them not making the Top 50, but historically they are better than all three of those teams.
