Marmion Academy To Go Coed

After nearly a century as an all-boys institution Marmion Academy in Aurora will welcome female students as early as the 2026-27 academic school year.

"After a year of intense study, discernment and prayerful reflection it was detrrmined that it was the right time to make the change" the school stated adding that "Our values rooted in the Catholic Benedictine tradition will remain at the heart of our mission"

The Marmion Abby chapter of Monks voted Saturday to approve the planning and implementation of a coeducational model which followed a school board recommendation in October

The initial stratagy will focus on keeping students in single gender classrooms as freshmen and sophomores and then moving to coed classrooms for their junior and senior years

The decision raised some concerns about the impact on Rosary High School a private Catholic
all-girls school in Aurora. Rosary is not closing, is not facing financial hardship, and has no imminent plans to merge with any other institutions.

Rosary partners with Marmion on programs like theater and school officials say the hope to continue collaborating. School leaders will explore options amid " a fundamental shift in Catholic education in the Fox Valley

As for Marmion, administrators feel the change will "Better prepare students for the diverse, interconnected world and meet the needs of famalies in tbe Fox Valley area who want their daughters to have a transformative education and to position Marmion for long-term enrollment growth.

One of the computer rating systems is going to be wrong. While CalPreps has Wilmington a 3-point favorite over Montini (as shown in this thread), Massey is predicting a 34-14 victory for Montini.
I think I can speak for the board when I say we’re keeping Montini at +3

Here is an interesting fact. Over the last five playoff years and including all eight classes, four teams have won a state football championship with three or more losses. All four of them were CCL/ESCC teams, led by Nazareth's 5-loss team last year.

Over that same period of time, 11 of the 15 state championships won at the 8A, 7A and 5A levels were won by CCL/ESCC teams. That is a remarkable achievement.

Now that the 2024 playoffs have been completed, the second paragraph above can be updated. The CCL/ESCC has won 14 of the last 18 state championships at the three cited class levels. That is 78%.

Anyone seeing/hearing anything regarding Live TV this Saturday?

Kevin, I think you found a back door to HUDL streams that are Subscription only. I don’t know how but I appreciate it!
That's exactly what I was trying to say last week in the Sycamore thread. I'm still such a Tech Dummy that I found the Wrong Way in to Hudl.

Sycamore thread

This is actually typical of my successes and failures with computers. Before I retired from being a Reactor Operator, I was often restricted from the companies computers because I made really weird stuff happen. But nothing that effected the actual reactors. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

I am Tech Illiterate, but not stupid. When I learn something. I become scary good at it, and 4Afan gave me the last piece to the puzzle of searching on Hudl. Now I'm good at Hudl. Go figure,

That’s why I mentioned NFHS, most have a sub, Naz’s hudl is not free. They will have both and Hudl will be better but here’s NFHS just in case someone has that sub and doesn’t want to purchase the game: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/ihsa/gam5a0cfeafdd
Get out of my head you’ve spent enough time there my friend, hope all is well!

It has been 30 years

Darn it! Collect her gear. We’ll give it to @DMurph11 or @PowerI66 , 2 fans the Mustangs have picked up recently. I think I sent mediums to your daughter to try and steal her loyalty.

So that stuff could probably only fit dmurph, you know West Suburban waist size 28 , Eddie Bauer adult small sweater vest wearer, runs charitable 10Ks with his GEM wife and actually enjoys running them.

Power on the other hand sounds like a beefy, former Offensive Lineman. But us husky no-necks have been known to try and make a shmedium work every once in a while. So we have more appreciative options out there Scott. Just don’t wash yours. We need to smell you on South Western Ave. Saturday
All of that is true except the parts about me having a 28 waist, doing or enjoying any form of running, and my wife being a gem (thankfully she’s not on EdgyTim…yet - if you read this honey I was kidding)
