Guys….guys….this is ESL we are talking about let’s not forget that like MC, no one actually beats them. The difference is MC gives opponents games because they feel bad or something while ESL gets games stolen from them by all white referees taken out of the movie Remember the Titans.

In other words, ESL would run through any class any year even 9a. Just as long as CG doesn’t show up 😬
You should stick to commenting about how SF is going to beat naz by 3 tds...geez.

SF 10 Syc 0 F

Another interesting stat about that 5 loss Naz team…that championship marked the end of a two year reign of terror in which a Nazareth Athletics Team has hoisted a championship trophy in each season. Girls hoops went on to win second and the baseball team which was success factored up to the highest level also made a deep run.
I think since 2019 there has been a Nazareth Team in a state final in each season too. Whether it’s volleyball football baseball or hoops the last 10 years have really been some great years to be a Roadrunner!

MC vs SR Part 105

How healthy are SR and MC on both sides of the ball? If both teams are at full strength, I certainly think this game could go either way, or at least will be a classic battle to the end. Any key injuries/players out this weekend?

And sorry if I missed it somewhere above. I’ll admit I am lazy and don’t always have the time or patience to skim through everything.

Go Caravan!

Haven't thought about this in the past but it really doesn't make sense for ESL to petition up. Each year 6A south brings no one to the table for them. If they were 5A they would at least traditionally get JCA, Morris and SHG. With a title game vs a great 5a north squad.
They would run through that to it’s not many teams in Illinois that would give them problems

Wilmington @ Montini

I'll be curious what Wilmo brings to the table via the passing game this week. In order to win, I just think they will have to open up the playbook a bit.
Yeah I agree they will have to figure out something to get some points on the board. I know that Montini's defense is extremely tough and they largely held Byron in check.
Contrary to popular opinion, Wilmington actually does have pass plays in the playbook. They had to execute a 2 minute drill to tie up the quarterfinal game last year and send it to OT. Obviously, they would much rather play ball control and get 3.5 yards a pop, but that might not be readily available.

Wilmington @ Montini

I posted my thoughts in the ICE Semis thread. We are clearly underdogs this week. Although Montini had to play Byron in the 2nd round, everything else about the bracket set up well for them with home field. I'm not privy to the game plan. Even if I was, I wouldn't share it here, but I'm pretty confident they won't be installing the shotgun spread in a week. ;)

My dumb ass observations, though:
Wilmo has been great on defense pretty much all year. Whoever the main dude is on the other team has been generally neutralized, if not completely shut down. The problem with Montini is that they are so good and balanced. Who do you try to stop? Dual threat QB's that are legit typically wreak havoc in the smaller classes. Du-Pec had an outstanding one last week, but their RB wasn't as much of a threat, and Wilmo did enough to slow them down, although they did hit a couple big plays.

The biggest thing is that Wilmo offense has to figure out a way to keep the chains moving and put together a couple drives. They need to limit or eliminate pre snap penalties, which hampered them last week. They need to be on the good side of the turnover margin. It wouldn't hurt to get something from the special teams. All in all, I think they will have to play their best game of the year, because Montini is their best opponent of the year, and probably their best opponent of the past few years.

General information for anyone attending Loyola at LW-East Saturday night...

There is no reserved seating (laying down blankets, back rests, etc.). First come, first serve.

So much for the Chicago tradition of dibs ...

but a 9.00 cheeseburger with no combo that's Frankfort robbery
If that was for a hot dog, it would be a frankfurter robbery!

Let's talk about the overpriced concessions at LWE, I'm all for patronizing schools when its for the kids, but a 9.00 cheeseburger with no combo that's Frankfort robbery, Winnetka would never!
Agreed! They farmed it out instead of volunteers from the various organizations on campus. Cracker Barrel or Social45 across the street on LaGrange are choices.

DoctorD...how we feelin brotha?

What's the gameplan for the Wildcats this week? Mixing in a little spread to keep the Broncos on their toes?
