Semis… LFG …what are the best matchups???

I saw 24-22 LWE on Massey. Is the algorithm different for everyone? Lol. One of many reasons why I wouldn't want to use one of these systems to rank, sorry I mean seed, the playoffs.
now that you mention it that's user error on my part, or omission at least. it depends if you do home/away/neutral i was just going quickly thru all the semi matchups so i just did neutral for everyone. 24-22 in favor of LWE in frankfort

Loyola (Hollywood) vs LW East (Beast)

8A State championship next week in Frankfort, ( again no insult to the lower bracket ) and in the end the “state championship game gets played Thanksgiving weekend!, but somehow to me it is the semi-final game that has the 2 best 8A teams in it. I feel like LWE is like Indiana - all you can do is win the games you are scheduled to play - I will believe Indiana is real when they beat Ohio State - till then -well? LWE went out and got a QB - they are not the same team as last year and they will present a different challenge for LA with the new QB , they are at home and are seeking vengeance for the last three years were they are 0-3 vs Hollywood - I would say LWE is favored …. But as Mike Tyson said one time - everyone has a plan till you get punched in the face. LWE is gonna get punched in the face for the first time this year. The question is do they have a plan ?
Admittedly not a big 8A guy, but would you take Loyola to win a game against York or NC this year?

Do you propose separating the conference from the IHSA playoffs?
I'm glad you asked. I would separate them only until the semifinal round.

1) All CCL/ESCC teams make the playoffs regardless of record.
2) Divide the 24 teams into three groups of eight teams each. This can be done based on student enrollment or team ability.
3) Each group of eight teams plays three rounds of playoffs among themselves to produce one winner.
4) The winner of Group A advances to the semifinals of the IHSA 8A playoffs.
5) The winner of Group B advances to the semifinals of the IHSA 7A playoffs.
6) The winner of Group C advances to the semifinal round of the IHSA 6A playoffs.
7) The other 24 teams (three quadrants of eight teams) in those three class levels will be teams that are not in the CCL/ESCC.
8) Any CCL/ESCC playoff group (A, B or C) that does not win a state championship for five consecutive years will drop down one class level for the playoffs the following year.

If CCL/ESCC member schools do not like the new arrangement, then, as they like to say, they should "just get better".

St Laurence 14 - DePaul Prep 26 F

I think it was a complete rebranding. They went a number of years as GT and it wasn’t working. When they rebranded as DePaul and moved to the new DV campus, things took off. It’s an unparalleled comeback story. I love to see the success.
So they bought their athletic success? Who are they, the Dodgers? I'M KIDDING!!! Used to live not far from GT and very intrigued by the whole story of their development.

Jca vs morris

Remind me. What did you say before the Morgan Park game about Morris’ chances?
Not gonna lie, I honestly thought MP would win. Four 1st quarter turnovers will take the wind out of your sails though. Morris defense played well, but MP couldn't get out of their own way. Morris offense could not move the ball at all in their standard offense, but had success running out of "T", but I don't think JCA will have any issues stopping that.

Jca vs morris

I’m a big fan of the Morris program, and the town for that matter. I even taught there for a few years. Played some great playoff games over years years back the Hilltoppers over the years. There’s even a game that a certain player took over. I can’t remember his name, but he could play. Can’t wait to renew this rivalry in Saturday. Good luck to all. JC 42. Morris 14
What years did you teach at Morris?

Yeah that JR Zwierzynski game in 2001 still gives me nightmares!

Final Richards over Kankakee 21-20

Gary Korhonen is smiling upon this Richards program! Go Bulldogs!
It was nice to be at a game and live or die on every play like MC games. Richards hung around enough and took it at the end. Mitchell is a horse was going out of wildcat most of game and was on defense. Im not sure how much is left in the tank for him next week at Flyer
