Going Coed is fine but they will instantly become “less sophisticated” in football as the move down to 5A, it’s sad that they will never be able to include their future state titles under their list of accomplishments. Enjoy ripping on schools that win titles in smaller classes while you can since in a few years you will be just like them.

I’m going to wait to really dig into this until after I attend some of the alumni and open forums and hear them out, and then obviously August 10th should they announce they are actually going to do it. For now, I’m not going to give it much more thought then it’s always been a Brotherhood to myself and others. For purposes of this board, Will it change the football team? No, if we were reclassified I assume we would just petition up and with our history we would be granted that petition. JC, Marist, Loyola, Fenwick, Laurence, De La Salle and DePaul (formerly Gordon) all made the change, and for many I know it came with resistance, but I just don’t know if the juice will be worth the squeeze on Dante.
Fair enough. BTW, the brotherhood you refer to should not change for you and your fellow alumni. Of course it would change for future alumni, but MC becoming coed does not change what you had. It does not change your MC experience one iota.

You can only move one class if they are 5A moving to 7A isn’t an option per IHSA rules.

Queen of Peace closing was a lay up for Laurence to turn co-Ed. MC had almost 600. I’ll be at the meetings to hear what they have to say.
If you can't survive with 600 your model is flawed. The competition for bodies is what is hurting these schools. Too many were built for Boomer.
That’s what I’m going to find out because I don’t understand it unless they are looking down the road so they can get ahead of what it may come down too. I don’t believe they are in any financial hardship as of now.

You bring our test numbers versus actual numbers at least 3 times a year, I’ve explained it to you a couple times now that we often get a drop off in numbers. Yes Rice currently has about 60 more students then MC, your also located in area of surrounded by at least 15 large Catholic Parishes/Public grade schools, some within 3 blocks, you should be busting at the seems, or at least at 850/900 with the schools in your general area. MC is located in Woodlawn and has only 60 less then you. So I wouldn’t be pounding my chest about your current situation because if you don’t think BR is in trouble, especially with any possibility of going Co-Ed off the table with MM as your neighbor, then think again. Everyone is struggling. People can’t afford gas right now, tuitions are going to be on the bottom of a lot of peoples list.

If these schools can't properly run at 500+ students the administration of them is broken. Maybe they are uncutting themselves and the few that can weather the storm will remain. The fact MC us doing this raise eyebrows if they are at 590.
