Unless he absolutely kills it there I don't this being his final College teamLOL when he committed to Oregon I posted there is a 10% chance he actually enrolls there, don’t be surprised if when it’s actually time to enroll if he goes some where else.
Given his history there is a solid chance he ends up hopping to 3 colleges and never being anything.
Unfortunately, I feel like you could say that for probably half of college athletes now. But hey, good for him for getting that money. Lifelong security if played right.Unless he absolutely kills it there I don't this being his final College team
And oregons recruiting a 5 star qb in the same class.First, the word "commit" is being seriously misappropriated in the case of recruiting HS players. Also, maybe the kid figured he could get the "keys to the car" sooner at USC, (figuratively, not literally). Oregon's last 3 QBs, I believe, have been upperclass transfers from the portal who have started elsewhere.
Thank You for the correctionI believe it was 7 of the 12 were with their original team. Then Ewers transferred after his frosh year. So not completely true
Maybe you are referring to the player below? And oregons recruiting a 5 star qb in the same class.
The end of your post reminds me of thisHe is local so it matters to us but in 2025 this is a big nothing burger....get your money kid.

Ya but this isn’t 2005 though. I don’t love it, it takes away one of the reasons I enjoyed college football but I agree kids should get money.Over under on how many more schools he “commits “ to before he enrolls? A commitment should be just that, a commitment.
Sure, but losing sight of the tens of thousands of scholarship dollars already granted to the players to either pursue a degree or enter the NFL's farm system of college football tends to occur. But, this is where we are now.Ya but this isn’t 2005 though. I don’t love it, it takes away one of the reasons I enjoyed college football but I agree kids should get money.
It certainly has issues, no doubt about that.Sure, but losing sight of the tens of thousands of scholarship dollars already granted to the players to either pursue a degree or enter the NFL's farm system of college football tends to occur. But, this is where we are now.
This is one of the rules I think should be in place for NIL, you must take at least one snap with a school before you collect a dime. No issue with kids getting paid, but it should be earned not just thrown at them out of the gate.Ya but this isn’t 2005 though. Can't be performance basedThis is one of the rules I think should be in place for NIL, you must take at least one snap with a school before you collect a dime. No issue with kids getting paid, but it should be earned not just thrown at them out of the gate.
I meant earned by at least playing one game at that school, not necessarily based on performance. Call it the "Quinn Ewers rule". How much did he collect from OSU without ever taking a snap? Can't be performance based
I understand. I'm saying they would consider that performance based though. Can't be tied to playing in any way is my understandingI meant earned by at least playing one game at that school, not necessarily based on performance. Call it the "Quinn Ewers rule". Does commitment mean just a player or school as well? Rumor is Oregon may have said he was their Qb of the class but then they hosted the top QB in the country after he decommitted from Georgia and hes probably going there now. Just wondering since everyone just assumes they know how recruiting goes and its always the kids fault if/when they switch.Over under on how many more schools he “commits “ to before he enrolls? Top programs are always bringing in top talent at some point you are going to have to beat someone out, if you are afraid of who they may bring in don’t commit to them. USC is currently recruiting another top tier QB, if he commits then what?Does commitment mean just a player or school as well? True but if a business tells you your their guy and then months later before you get there they bring and pursue someone then maybe they didnt want you as bad as they said? And if someones told them aren't bringing in anyone else in the same class so you commit and then they do, then why go to some place that lied to get you to committ before you even got there.Top programs are always bringing in top talent at some point you are going to have to beat someone out, if you are afraid of who they may bring in don’t commit to them. What, a recruiter lying to get a kid to go to a school? That's just blasphemy.True but if a business tells you your their guy and then months later before you get there they bring and pursue someone then maybe they didnt want you as bad as they said?
