No idea why Edwardsville gave the ok for that Friday night game in South Elgin.I would not do it
You still paying?Id rather drive on Friday and play. Saturday's suck.
Only thing I can think of is to keep the same schedule the team has had for 10 weeks now. And it gives you more time to prep for the next weeks game possibly.I would not do it
True but 2-4 hours each way of travel is going to throw anyone out of their routine if they get a matchup with a distant opponent.Team are creatures of habit. Some teams like playing at night (Fri or Sat) vs daylight .. they see it has a competitive advantage. It is all gamesmanship !
All.... Springfield High School wanted to play this Friday and Lemont agreed. Why? Unless The Senator coach (who is out after the the season) said ok if not then the earliest on Saturday 1pm. Ratsy
I completely agree with this reasoning. Additionally, as this past week showed, if you have a chance for better weather, you take it. O’Fallon had to agree to drive up to Glenbrook South last Friday, and play in pouring rain. Not only did that play into GBS’s hand in depending on the run, it completely took away O’Fallon’s ability to pass the ball. Saturday afternoon was beautiful. As we move into November, the temperature is often 25-30 degrees warmer in the early afternoon than at night.
Given the choice I would prefer to have my team play in potentially warmer weather on Saturday afternoon versus a Friday or Saturday night.
Even if you believe you will play in the state championship game which might be at night, you still have to get there.
In my mind a high school team's ability to play at their peak level is more likely in warmer weather.
It’s Lemont doing the traveling, correct?
That's interestingI know Fenwick and Pat's rent out of Triton so any team that rents is at the mercy of their landlords
