Deerfield Ill.) junior defensive end recruit Joshua Maize (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) hgas easily been one of the hottest names in the Midwest this spring. Maize has added more offers over the past week and Maize also talks about his summer plans and more here.

"I added offers from Youngstown State, Eastern Michigan, UConn, Buffalo and Miami of Ohio over the past week," Maize said. "It's been a pretty crazy spring."

So what's next for Maize?

"A lot of schools have been asking me to camp with them this summer. I really didn't want to camp this summer and I said that pretty early in the process, but I've changed my mind. I got a ton of feedback from coaches and the bigger schools just want to have a chance to evaluate me playing defensive end since I played linebacker all season last year. Those schools love my tape and my game...but they want to just see me work in person before they offer me."

So who will Maize camp with this summer?

"I'm going to camp at Illinois on June 4th as well as camping with Indiana and Purdue. I'm also looking at camping at Notre Dame for the Irish Invasion and then to North Carolina for a camp. Illinois, Indiana and Purdue all seem close to offering me and want to see me in person. ."

Maize also talked about narrowing down his list of favorites along with his time frame for making a college choice?

"I'm going to release either a Top 10 or Top 5 listing once I'm done with the camps this early summer. I'm also looking to make a decision this summer before the start of the season."

Does Maize have any favorites?

"Right now I have a favorite but I'm not releasing that just yet."

My Thoughts on Joshua Maize? In way too many cases kid buy into the "come and camp first" BS when in 99 percent of the cases those kids have zero shot at adding ann offer from the bigger level schools, but that's not the case here. Maize has the physical look and potential to play at the Big Ten level but just hasn't played defensive end at all. I feel Maize will walk away with a handful of Big Ten level offers this summer.
