Mahomet hit the transfer portal this off-season to score a nice running back from Champaign Central. I don't think Triad has much of a shot, as Mahomet has a more organized operation and hang their hats on first round wins.

Mahomet played 7A undefeated Quincy close for three quarters last week before the Blue Devils pulled away. Triad's best chance could be if Mahomet is banged up coming out of last week's game against a school with twice its enrollment.

Mahomet is having a strong season and beat up on Highland and Mt.Zion. Troy lost to both of those teams.
Triad does seem to be coming off their best game and Mahomet is off their biggest loss, giving at least some of the elements of an upset. Still, whoever wins gets a tough draw against the winner of Joliet Catholic vs Peoria
