Top 10 Athlete's to come out of the suburbs??

He's from a suburb, sort of, but not a Chicago suburb.
Edwardsville's A.J. Epenesa.
First team All-State and All-American in football. Among top 10 defensive ends in the nation coming out of high school. Considered a possible top 10 draft pick before his junior season at Iowa. But a so-so season and horrible combine dropped him into late second round to Buffalo.
First-team All-State basketball for Edwardsville team which went unbeaten until losing to Simeon in super-sectional.
Two-time IHSA Class 3A state champ in discus.

Track all state (8 medals) as Fr-So-Jr, injured Sr year, Track team 3rd as Jr. Basketball starter Jr-Sr after not playing as Fr-So, first Manteno team to win hoops regional. Also 4 year flyer on Cheerleading squad - which the other coaches didn't appreciate too much...

For people nominating females, question was top ten athletes not top 10 most decorated.
Does this also go to men playing a long time ago? Today's athletes are far better, bigger, stronger, faster, more technically sound. Better in every way really.

So far I like the Grange, JJK, Buckner, and Randle El answers.

Some more to add from the suburbs of St.Louis

Kevin Greene of Granite City is third all-time in the NFL for career sacks. May not have the speed of some of the most athletic people, but made up for it in other categories.

Adoree Jackson of Belleville moved to California after his freshman year, but did play for Belleville East High School one season. Taken 18th overall in the NFL Draft after starring at USC. Plays cornerback and is a return specialist for the Titans, and those are arguably the two most athletic positions on the field.

Ezekiel Elliott was born in Alton, IL and moved to Ladue, Missouri, both are suburbs of STL. I imagine you all are well aware of his football career, but he was a beast on the track. His high school records were 10.95 seconds in the 100-meter dash, 22.05 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 13.77 seconds in the 110m hurdles and 37.52 seconds in the 300m hurdles. He won all four of those events at his State Track meet in a span of less than three hours.

Not at all a top athletic player, but another beast of a player was George Musso of Collinsville, IL. Played bothways as an interior lineman for the Chicago Bears from the 30's to the 40's. One of the great lineman of his time and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Mike Morrison Deerfield High School, 4 time state singles champion in Tennis back in the 80's.

Matt Grevers, Lake Forest - swimming
4 x Olympic Gold Medalist in addition to the numerous medals he has won representing the US at international competitions.
4 x NCAA Champion

And at the age of 35, he went on ESPN a few weeks ago and absolutely dominated 7 other current and former professional athletes in the Peloton Challenge.

From that past season's class, I'll throw Marcellus Moore in the mix. D1 Power 5 football recruit and one of the fastest kids in the nation.
