St Francis @ Sycamore

I guess Massey is not giving the Loyola game much weight huh?

And that was a win on the road at Loyola.

This will not end well for sycamore. They’re used to it though. I believe their AD and principal have tried to make huge moves to separate publics and privates.

If weather holds up, and SF can slow down the run, idk how you cover 100 yards by 53.5 with the 3 all-CCL WR's SF has on offense... not to mention a few other weapons they have.. lots of firepower. Will be a great game, Sycamore is legit. But speed kills... Catholic Spartans by 2 scores

I might be wrong, but I thought Syc had a couple kids on FB team from 4x100 state team from last year. I'm pretty sure I heard that.

Oh you are WAY beyond my new skills now. I'm just posting what I find, and that link says "Upcoming: Sat 16 Nov, 4:00pm. At Morgan Park High Mustangs".

Whether it's true or not, I have no idea. O-O
If its on Chicago Public Schools Athletics Youtube page its legit

Should be a great game. Calpreps has St. Francis by 3 and Massey has Sycamore by 6.

Something tells me the groundskeeper took the week off and the grass may be a touch longer than normal.

Game field may be switched to the cornfields.

Sycamore is at home, but Franny is the favorite in this one.
I had talked myself into Sycamore being the favorite on that side of the bracket a week or two ago. Then in looking at results today, I am less than impressed. They had narrow one score wins over a 1-8 Dekalb, over a 4-5 Oswego East, and over a Mahomet team that eventually lost to SHG who got absolutely clobbered by JC last week.

Looking at their results, they seem to have improved as the year has gone on some, but their schedule still seems light. A nice win against Rochelle and then clobbering an injured Morris team are decent wins, but there isn't much there to make me think they can run the gauntlet of three tough games in 5A now.

I know comparing scores, especially from early in the season, is a pointless exercise. But I think I have talked myself from them being one of the biggest title favorites into now thinking they may be able to pull out an upset this week, but if they do, that may be as far as I see them getting.

Fair assessment, but how many conferences outside of the the CCL/ESCC have 3 quarterfinalists in one class outside of the I8? Naz will beat Rochelle but Rochelle will be the most physical team they've faced. Morris is down but made the quarters.

At worst the I8 has 3 quarterfinalists in 5A, at best it's an all I8 final.

You can question Sycamore's schedule but they only have 4 fewer "playoff points" than StF. So their schedule strength isn't that far off.

The playoff points is interesting but Loyola/Naz/Rita….and what Syc has Rochelle and a good but not great Morris squad? I’m taking your opinion on Morris, haven’t seen them.

Stop trying to sandbag like Tuccs!
Often imitated, never duplicated. Franny by 2 scores at the very least and hopefully Naz can make it through the most physical opponent they will have ever seen in school history so we can have a rematch of week 9. Though I feel Franny has to be favored BIG in the rematch given the way they converted 4th downs and fake punts in week 9. Naz is going to be lucky just to be on the same field should they get their shot.

False claim! Naz has played the following more physical teams this season Joliet Catholic Academy, Kankakee, St. Rita, Mount Carmel, & St. Francis
Over the years, I have rarely sided with Jwar, but I have to agree with him here. I have seen JCA, Rita and MC this year, and I have a really hard time believing that Rochelle is more physical than those teams.

It's not a coincidence that all 5 are still playing this weekend. However Rochelle is also very physical and worthy to be mentioned with the above.

All jokes aside, Sycamore's facilities for being natural grass are by far some of the best maintained. Two years ago I made the false hypothesis of Sycamore's grounds crew forgetting to turn off the sprinklers and not cutting the grass and it was probably better than some of the turf fields Naz played on that year.

Have you seen all 5 play this season? How about Rochelle?
Yes I am the guy that goes to his local HS game here in PA with my iPad so I can stream all the games from Illinois, and other states I’ve lived, live on YouTube, HUDL, NFHS, and the occasional FLOSports game. Between watching live or delayed stream I watch more football from around the country than most. Rochelle is certainly NOT the most physical team NAZ has played this year. Rochelle is obviously very good, else they wouldn’t be playing this weekend, but I will call it as a see it.
