It’s the same 5A that had 3 of the 4 semifinalists from the CCL/ESCC. Seems pretty sophisticated. They play in 5A? KIf so, it's a far more sophisticated 5A than other schools.

I see you give this answer often, but it's not generally reasoning you would accept from another school as to why they don't petition up. Kind of a silly answer. We play a regular season schedule of mostly 7A schools. We're right where we should be (for the moment, anyway.) When we move up to 8A, we'll have playoff opponents with as many as 3.5 times the number of boys as us.

Naz has definitely proven how great of a program they are. This sums it up right here. Kudos to Nazareth.Naz got success factored up and went to 2 titles in 6a, winning once. Then they got success factored up and went to 2 titles in 7a, winning once. Spare me the bs.
Why?SHG in 3A is insanity. The majority of the Cyclone fan base won't care as a state title is a state title, but there will be a few fans who will be embarrassed.
Looks like trading SHG for Montini in 3ASHG in 3A is insanity. The majority of the Cyclone fan base won't care as a state title is a state title, but there will be a few fans who will be embarrassed.
Let me say it for the people in the cheap seats…Looks like trading SHG for Montini in 3A
SHG enrollment - 510
Montini enrollment - 585
You and Jenny both pointed that out. I'm fairly certain the poster meant to write "Brother Rice beat Mt Carmel", not Loyola.Brother Rice did nit beat Loyola this year.
You're not finishing shit. Settle down old manSon, don't start what you can't finish. Thank you.
If they can get to 5 wins next year, IC will be a big problem in 2A (or 3A if they petition up)Why?
They lost to a 2A school by 30 points. They aren’t very good right now.
No doubt. If they can get to 5 wins next year, IC will be a big problem in 2A (or 3A if they petition up)
No doubt.
IC and SHG joining 3A would be great. Althoff as well.
What happened to IC?
LA, MC, BR, SR, JCA, PC, Naz, and Marist losing to public schools in the playoffs is weak relative to this argument I am in with Alexander32? LOL!And Notre Dame and Iggy are? Or did you just throw them in to beef up your weak argument?
2nd round knockout in 5A the past two years (last year against a public school). Why?
They lost to a 2A school by 30 points. They aren’t very good right now.
SHG wouldn't have even been a top 5 school in 3A this past season.SHG in 3A is insanity. The majority of the Cyclone fan base won't care as a state title is a state title, but there will be a few fans who will be embarrassed.
Readers, please see my signature for more expert takes from our resident whoopee cushionWe play a regular season schedule of mostly 7A schools. I meant from the teams a few years ago. They were consistently title contenders and now they are hoping just to get to 5 wins? They lost to St Laurence in the quarterfinals last year and went 4-5 this year so they lost their multiplier which will bring them to 2A. (If they can get in with their rigorous schedule)

The "old man" stuff, again. Isn't anyone out there clever?. Settle down old man
Oh, I never watch "Matlock" I prefer to grab a frosty bottle of "Enssure, wrap myself in a shawl and turn on "Love Island - Geezer Edition." It's a great show -- all these oldies running around a beach wearing nothing at all -- not even their dentures.Time to hit the nasal spray and relax, surely there’s some Matlock on somewhere.
Didn’t you read the first sentence about IC in this thread 🙄Ic needs to get 5 wins first
Iggynazio sounding triggered perhaps?!!! 🤔DePaul going from 4A to 8A.
Enjoy your weekend
Its not sitting in the lower class, that is where the IHSA has put them based on enrollment or success factorJCA? Anyone who really believes JCA is a 5A school and belongs in the 5A playoffs should probably get their head checked. The sad part is the majority of that fan base seems to think it's not a problem to sit in the lower classes and pick off public schools (in multiple sports). Low hanging fruit for them.
Baseball is a different story. Any given day and they lost to a powerhouse program in Mt. Carmel. It happens, but they were the best team in the state that got upset in the sectional final.Naz does the same thing, they finally had to play the big boys last year in baseball and everyone saw what happened.
It wasn't the AD, it was the D coordinator that cried on social media last year.Kinda interesting that Antioch made all the noise about private schools. The AD is a JCA guy who played and coached at Joliet Catholic.
We lose a TON but there are a lot of good young guys who await their turn. The Factory (Our Lady Queen of Peace) will continue to stock the shelves.Wonder what Althoff will look like next year when all those dudes graduate and they end up in 3a.
Then you will complain when the 8A state final is LA v MC every yearAgreed, CCL blue and green to 8A, orange and white to 7A, and purple and red to 6a. remove all multipliers and success factors. Then all of the CCL teams that play in a classification below where they belong to chase easy trophies like that Chicago Mt Carmel school will be correctly classified.
His point was made and was to be taken and interpreted much like biblical principles and parables; ya don’t make them walk on 4s."Might be?"
We both know it's longer, but that isn't the point (such as it is) that Alexander32 was making, nor was it mine in responding to him. He claimed that,
As opposed to "about once a year," I provided multiple occurrences of CCL/ESCC power losses to public schools per year. Just calling him out on his hyperbole.
Unless the "advantage" is a red herring and expedient scape goat used to assuage hurt feelings and justify a lack of excellence. There aren’t many things in life worse than someone benefitting from a competitive advantage and then boasting of the results of said advantage, while at the same time denying the advantage. Even worse, comparing themselves to those without the advantage.
Sorry butThat was one of the ones I intentionally left out. Didn't want Alexander32 to use that to discount my argument since, no offense, Pat's isn't really among the "CCL/ESCC powers" to which Alexander32 was referring.
Rice didn’t beat Loyola but played them tough and had a stacked team — at least four real division 1 starters on defense, guys who will start in the Big 10— that would have gone undefeated in most every public conference this year,This is why the debate rages on, private schools compete against high level teams in the regular season and then are wallowed to be success factored down. They do this to help them win championships, no publics are allowed to play down when they don't win
Rice in 5A is a joke - They beat Loyola this year
Marist in 6A is joke - They played Loyola closer than LWE
Fenwick in 5A is a joke - Who probably should have beat 7A DGN in the 2nd round
All of the top tier of Catholic schools should play in 7 or 8A and their players welcome the challenge.
Yes, your empathy is on FULL display. That explains a lot. To you there probably is no advantage to men/boys competing in women/girls sports either. Say less, my friend, say less……Unless the "advantage" is a red herring and expedient scape goat used to assuage hurt feelings and justify a lack of excellence.
Zero empathy for whiners.Yes, your empathy is on FULL display. That explains a lot. Say less.
