He had a perfect game going into the 9th inning and as Steve Stone said afterward, "one shoelace away from perfection." Outstanding effort. No way he does this if Cooper was still the pitching coach. Cooper wrecked more pitchers and was the most overrated pitching coach in the league.

Very interesting to see Rodon hit 98 on the gun too. What is very telling to me is the fact Rodon went to work during the off season on his diet and mechanics...especially the mechanics. Why didn't Cooper see this as an issue? If this had been corrected before, who knows how many good performances Rodon would have had up to this point? Hopefully he stays healthy now since he doesn't have to deal with Cooper anymore.

Luckily for the Sox, Cooper didn't get his claws all the way into Kopech and Crochet.

As much as it was time to go, Cooper was the pitching coach that turned Giolito around. Rodon also hit 99 in the 9th on his 110th pitch.

He found a lot of nuts over the years, turning around pitchers, both starters and bullpen guys, was his specialty for a while. His time, however, had passed.

Truth be told, much of Giolito's turnaround is credited to another pitching coach. ;)
Who? Hawk Harrelson? I figure why not? He takes credit for a lot of stuff anyway. LOL You want to know how great he is? Just ask him...he'll tell you. :D
