Rochelle 42 - Dixon 36 OT

For pure entertainment and suspense, this goes down as absolute best of first round. Rochelle was running all over Dixon in early part of game, up 14-0 and the Dukes facing a third-and-20.
That's when Dixon QB Tyler Shaner (head coach's son) took charge and led his team back with 200 yards passing and 140 rushing. Back and forth all night with teams trading scores and XPs looming large.
So many twists and turns, such as Rochelle's all-state RB Gensler fumbling for first time in his career with score tied 36-36 late in game. Dixon recovers in end zone, as he lost ball at the 1-yard line.
With Dixon driving towards winning score and everyone's emotion's on edge, wasn't looking good for Rochelle, but D finally managed a stop.
In OT, Dixon had second-and-goal at 2, but illegal movement moves ball back. On fourth down, a 5-4, 120 sophomore DB for Rochelle had his third INT of game and Rochelle scores on very next play to win a thriller.
Coming in, I figured Rochelle would have won by 3 TDs. Lessen learned - the playoffs are a whole different animal and if a team gets hot, like Dixon did, anything can happen.
