Gonna roll this here tonight for free tomorrow;
Huntley (Ill.) junior three star ranked defensive end recruit Olalere Oladipo (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) has remained one of the hottest names in the Midwest during the ongoing spring evaluation period. Oladipo takjes a few minutes to update us on his recruiting, unlimited college coaches texting and more.
"It's been a pretty sun spring for me," Oladipo said. "My latest offers are from Florida Atlantic, Michigan State and Duke."
So have college coaches knocked down the doors at Huntley so far this spring?
"I've seen like 8 or 9 schools so far in person but a lot of other coaches have been here but I didn't see them. We are still expecting a lot of coaches here over the next few weeks. It's been good though and the coaches have said some really nice things about me and my game."
Oladipo has also experienced first hand the recently passed rule that allows college coaches to text prospects an unlimited amount.
"Oh my God," Oladipo laughed. "It's been non-stop texts from weird area codes all spring. I really don;t know who a lot of these coaches are until we start talking back and forth a bit and then I figure it out. Once I get home I don;t really use my cell phone much anymore. I just throw it on the charger now and pick it up later or the next day."
Is Oladipo any closer to naming a Top Schools list?
"I have a set list of schools right now but I'm not ready to release anything yet. I'm still in touch with several schools who said they are close to offering me or evaluating me. i'm going to wait to release my schools list until sometime later in May."
Any time frame for Oladipo for making his college choice?
"I'm still planning to decide before the start of the season."
Joshua Maize has multiple scholarship offers.
