Richmond (Ill.) Burton junior offensive tackle recruit Dalton Wagner (6-foot-8, 291 pounds) recently visited Oklahoma, Wagner recaps his visit to see the Sooners in person along with more in this update.
"I feel pretty blessed these days but it's also been pretty hectic," Wagner said. "We've been making a lot of visits but at the same time those visits have been very valuable in helping me get a better idea about each school."
Wagner made a recent visit last week to Oklahoma.
"I had a very good visit to Oklahoma. I was able to take a full campus tour along with learning more from the academic side. I was also able to watch a spring practice. It was great to see the coaches work with the players and see how they also interact off the field. I also get along great with offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. We had a long talk and he also told me he will be in school on May 16th and will come and watch me workout. Oklahoma also has a great tradition and history and overall it was a very good visit."
Wagner is hoping to make a few more visit soon.
"I'm planning to head up to Wisconsin this weekend for a junior day event. I'm also trying to find a way to get out to visit Penn State soon."
So does Wagner have any favorites?
"I do have some favorites but I'm not going to make those public for now. I just want to look at all of my offers and options before I start to name any favorites."
How about a time frame for his college choice?
"I'm planning to narrow things down by the end of May. I'm hoping to make a decision by mid season towards late in the season. I just don't want to be one of those kids who commits early just to back out a month or two later. I want to be 100 percent solid on my decision so I'm going to take my time for now."
EDGY's Take on Dalton Wagner: It's going to be an interesting spring for Wagner. He has drawn recruiting looks and interest from multiple Power 5 schools and if they haven't offered him yet he is very high up on most radar screens. A kid with the size of Wagner (6-foot-8 and near 300 pounds) most major Power 5 schools will want to watch him workout, bend and move in person. If Wagner impresses in person this spring (and I felt all along that Wagner's positives besides his enormous size is his bend and mobility) expect many major Power 5 offers to follow.
