New: Video Things to Ponder....

Enjoy.Just a few issues and things to consider this week.

I suspect the IHSA will closely track what is going on with the NCAA particularly as it relates to outbreak differences among various geographic areas. However, both organizations are joined at the hip with what is going on with academic on-campus opening issues and that is certainly far more complicated for the NCAA.

Governor just said IL peak miraculously has changed from mid May to now mid June. IHSA and ISBE get moving....

He also stated that as of today, all regions are on track to move to phase three except....the northeast Chicago region. That region isn't meeting one of the metrics. Like Edgy said in video, some parts will move and some will be forced back.

This does not bode well for fall sports or actual school if we keep staying inside and pushing the magic peak down the road, with the governor refusing to budge on making adjustments

There is no way the "peak" will be declared to have happened before July 4th. Zero chance.

A couple of other things to ponder as well.

1. how about all the older or retired coaches on staff? Will some hang it up due to COVID-19? Will they want to take a risk?

2. What about the referee situation? There are some older crews out there. I would be interested in seeing if some refs decide to hang it up as well in fear of contracting it. Will there possibly be more of a referee shortage than there already is?
