St. Barts - can't remember mascot
St. Tars - can't remember mascot
Immaculate conception- can't remember mascot

Why did they Christ the King change their nickname? Did the local roadrunners find it offensive?

North Side Catholic League

Queen of Angels Knights (Blue Demons prior to 1977)
St Jerome Raiders
St Margaret Mary
Our Lady of Mercy
St Hilary
St Gregory
St Ita
Hardy Prep Falcons
St Ignatius (I think they had football)
Our Lady of Grace

I think St. Hilary was the last football program left and MAY had died off (for football) somewhat recently.

All the churches are still open except St Ignatius. As for schools:

Q of A, Hardy Prep, OLG, and St Hilary schools are still open. OLM school closed.

St MM is one of the two host school campuses of Northside Catholic Academy. Among others, St Jerome, St Gregs, and Iggys are part of NCA (as are non-football St Henry, St. Gertrude (other host school site) St Tims, and probably a few others)

St Ita was part of NCA and was a host school, but dropped out and now is the new home of St Thomas of Canterbury School.

Did the Resurrection Romans have a team? They had some ridiculously good basketball teams in the day.

St. Mary’s Star of the Sea and Queen of the Universe in Westlawn are still open by the skin of their teeth, but don’t compete in sports anymore.
I believe the Blue Island school was St. Benedict

My grade school alma mater, which is no more, was the Our Lady of Ransom Raiders. We were a CYO Floor Hockey juggernaut back in the mid 70's :)

Christ the King merged with St. Barnabas to form a team.

Queen of Martyrs merged with MHR and CCD kids to form a team

St. Linus/St. Germaine/St. Gerald used to combine to form a team but they can’t even do that anymore between the three schools.

St, Christina is more then half Mount Greenwood School.

All these schools used to have overflowing sidelines on their own without having to merge....it’s sad to see.

People dispute me but sounds like you're from the area where I'm from. The dispute? Before it got moved under the high voltage towers do you remember when Hickory Hills Little League was in front of the Sabre Room?

Naw but we had some battles with them in basketball in the late 80s. I went to Our Lady of Westside. C/O 88
Coach Watkins had some teams. We had some battles in the 70’s against probably the most talented basketball teams at that level I’ve ever seen. On top of all that the Res gym was the most imposing place I’ve ever played or watched a game. Good times, good memories.

From West to East Main in Belleville - a new parish every 500 families.

Bull Sac
St. Henry - first and finest fish fry.
Queen of Peace - runner up and recently resurrected with original family recipe.
Saint Augustine
Saint Mary
The Cathedral

All on Main or the Beltline. West to East order.

@crusader_of_90 working OT on his Belleville Catechism, not to be confused with our Baltimore Catechism. 😂

SJB were the Warriors I believe in my day. I think they’ve become the Jaguars nowadays.

Queen of the Universe Cobras baby!

I cannot think of any mascots for teams we played, even main rivals [St. Nicholas of Tolentine, St. Turibius]. We all folded up, after those two rolled into QofU for a last hurrah.

My brother was at St. Renee of Goupil, colors were green, yellow and white but not sure mascot.

St. Symphrosa was my favorite opponent. My guy Rocco ran all over as an 8th grader with a beard and tattoo. Good man despite initial impressions.
