Naz @ Rita

Big program win for Naz. Put another big traditional CCL blue notch in the old belt.

Started out a defensive showcase then seemed to get out of hand. Any color as to how the second half progressed?

Give me the old days of the angry insane Naz posse over the new let me throw a shot at a traditional power we just beat.

Hats of to Nazareth. Better to come down to earth during the regular season than say the first or second weekend of the state playoffs.

We’ll see how the young Mustangs respond, will they splinter or circle the wagons and come together for the remainder of the season.

Burn the film. Coach Racki provided the blueprint and all involved will have to adjust for that type of gameplan the next time St. Rita faces a one-score-difference opponent in the upcoming games and playoffs.

Whether he's factually correct or not, let him gloat.

His team just pounded a team that was considered a one-point favorite on her home turf.
I’m not sure what is factually incorrect about the statement I made.

Fact 1: Big win for Naz. Think this now gets them the 5 wins they need and wayyyy earlier in the year than the last two years.

Fact 2: another traditional CCL blue notch in the belt. While they are in the Green this year St Rita is a traditional blue team and their fans that take the train to the city love to to remind me even on years they go 4-5 and win state that Naz cannot beat the blue teams. Last year they beat Rice that was the first botch this year was Rita now there is just Loyola and MC left.

Give me the old days of the angry insane Naz posse over the new let me throw a shot at a traditional power we just beat.

this post while a false is evidence of the fact that Rita is considered to be that notch or traditional power I’m talking about. When a lowly 5a ESCC school who “can’t beat the blue teams” finally gets a win I consider it a big program win. When SF beat Loyola Fitz or not that was a HUGE program win.

I respect St Rita and the “traditional powers” and as a result of that I get excited when Naz can hang with them and sometimes even come out on top. I’m sorry for upsetting you fellas

Why get a notch in a belt when we can give them the 5A crown right now?
I’m not sure where you were the Saturday after thanksgiving probably a turkey coma like me but I hear the crown is already in place on their head it’s just waiting to be knocked off in week 9 by the one true king.

I thought someone posted questioning how many games has Nazareth really won against the CCL Blue and the poster typed that Rita was in the Green. I forgot who it was but it's not up here anymore.

My response was to the poster saying that I actually don't know how many CCL Blue teams Nazareth beat, but "tuccs" has the right to gloat because your Roadrunner gave a beatdown to one tonight.

And I respect the fact you feel Rita is a bigtime CCL power (and I agree with you) because at certain points on this site whenever a thread is created (that has nothing to do with Rita), she seems to get jabs and digs thrown at her occasionally throughout the years.

Looking for the replay from the game last night. Anyone know where to look?

Has anyone really posited or boasted that a "lowly 5a ESCC school" can not win against the "Mighty CCL?"

Sometimes when a CCL traditional school gets upset or loses a game, typed phrases like the "so-called big, bad, and almighty CCL schools" got "destroyed" or words like "overrated" will appear on this site. And Rita is one of those schools that gets called out for some reason. When MC eventually loses a game against a public school (will it ever happen, LOL!), I am sure it will come out as well.

The old SCC and western suburb Catholic teams are really now giving those untouchable old CCL Blue teams a run for their money.

All it took was to play these teams a few times before figuring them out.

I never thought Rita was "untouchable." What gave you that impression?

Yes, once you get familiar with your foe, you have a chance.

Well that old CCL Blue with Loyola, Mt Carmel, Brother Rice, St Rita and Marist always looked untouchable for the western suburb smaller Catholic schools.

Now Montini, Naz and St Francis have wins over these schools for the first time in history and even IC is giving a much larger school Marist fits.

Valid point. Duly noted.

I couldn’t have been more impressed with the way Naz won the football game. Naz dominated the LOS battle and beat Rita by being more physical. Not at all what I was expecting to see.

Rita’s RB going down surely assisted this effort but it wasn’t going to be Rita’s day either way. Hopefully #2 is ok and back this week.
