No they didn't. Jack was amazing. First half d was pathetic.
You can’t stop Ignatius type offense with a Noseguard and 2 DE’s. They switched to 3 LBs but they were getting 3 yards, 4 yards a pop and then they broke it outside in the option pitch. You need to stack the box. They had 0 passing yards, commit to stoping the run and load up the middle. They got to do something different against JCA in a couple weeks. This is the same thing Iggy did in 2021, only difference is MC offense was shutout that game, tonight we scored points. MC is going to lose another game, possibly two in the regular season if this defensive struggles continue. Too many good teams left on the schedule where we are not going to score 40 points off of. Iggy was successful with the option, MC's bread-and-butter play for almost 30 years, and MC couldn't stop it at first. But then they tightened up a bit, got a sack here, an interception there, and shut Iggy down in the fourth quarter, much like they did in the Naz game. And the run game was outstanding. On a night when his arm wasn't working, Elliott was virtually untouched on TD runs of 20, 50, 50, and 70 yards. Sophomore Q. Burrell had another 50-yarder and Junior Maddy Wilson had one from the 25.
