I will not be at this game opting to stay local so if anyone would like to provide some play by play and color commentary please do.

Pretty much over from 16th Street. Wheels officially off the bus.

Times have changed in Lombard. Maybe 100 people in the home stands

Sounds like major turmoil at Montini. New OC this week. Previous was let go.

It appears that some have a feeling of schadenfreudian based on the fact that after decades of successful football teams Montini is having a couple of down years.

Quoting Mark Twain out of context, "The reports of Montini's death are greatly exaggerated."

It may take a year or two but Montini will get back on track.

Question to the forum, will Montini stay in the Orange next year or “drop down” a level in the CCL? They can’t keep up with the Marists’ of the state anymore.

CCL will realign a bit anyway with the couple of schools joining. I haven't seen any hypotheticals yet.

JCA suffered through the same thing 5 years ago. People were convinced it was the end of an era....two State Titles later....and one of those two could have easily been Montini’s.

Exactly on JCA! a couple of good classes and good coaching can turn things around. JCA legend Dan Sharp retired after a 1 win season and new coach Jaws came in with a new plan and things started to roll in his second year.
Did you know that since the playoffs began in the 1970’s, JCA has had 5 different coaches…and all 5 have won at least 1 state title.

JCA is a system that you need 5 very good offensive linemen and a good RB to win.

In Montini's spread offense you need good players at every position.

JCAs system controls the clock. Montini's spread system will not control the clock. This means the defense will be on the field more which demands hiģhly skilled players on defense and now depth too.

The two programs are very different.

Wrestling program is done.
Yeah but they knew what they were getting when they hired that coach. Great wrestling coach, questionable decision making. No other sport has highs and lows in high schools like wrestling. No loyalty.

Opposing pundits had quietly begun to write an obituary for Mount Carmel. This wasn’t that long ago.

The way I see it. Marist freshman beat Mt Carmel freshman. Montini freshman beat Marist Freshman. So, in 2-3 years, Montini varisty will be better than Marist and MC.

That's happened before but one reciever is now at Glenbard South and will play for Notre Dame, another reciever is at IMG and our RB is at Bolingbrook.

So maybe your right if everyone stays.

The Driscoll kids are over at St Francis this year.

DC has been a non factor for around 15 years now. Most went to IC, some Glenbard North. Montini had less than the number of fingers on your hand. Therefore a non factor.

The big names Montini got from DC were Nick Campanella, one o lineman and a pass rusher.
