Typical early start for both teams up and down a bit sloppy and turnovers.
Maine South was able to really pound the ball early with the Wall of Park Ridge left side (Liam OSullivan and Kevin Jarvis) but then Montini D sorted it out later in the half. Overall Hawks ran it a ton early and the passing game in the first half never really found a pace. Three INY from Brian Collis also didn't help.
Hawks showed more life in the second half and Collis got into a better pace. Offense however had more issues in the red zone and had top settle for FG's.
Overall on Maine South? Showed some good showed some not so good. They will get some things sorted out and they are still a Top 25 caliber tam I feel.
Montini? Really, really impressive team speed, QB Justin Blake like the rest of the offense looked a bit shaky but settled in. Was able to throw a good ball and has exceptional speed in the read option game. RB Price Walker was Prince Walker like (impressive as expected) and the remaining skills are very solid. Tyler Millikan made some big catches and plays and I liked what I saw from the rest of the skills.
Defense did well against the MS offense when they hit the red zone.
Overall? No question the Broncos have the potential to win 6A
More to follow early next week in Scouting Reports.
