I couldn't agree more. If 2 hours in a car is a problem, you're better off watching the games on TV. Hell it can take me 2 hours to get to Wrigley Field from Lockport.

Decent idea but IHSA will never go for two locations for the state series. Costs too much.
It seems to me I have read over the years that the overwhelming choice on this board for the state championship games is ISU. I remember people saying they preferred ISU over U of I and the same was true when it was held in DeKalb. I would prefer ISU as well as it seems to be a more central location in the state. Plus, the stadium is great and it seems like a better atmosphere than the other two locations.
As far as the drive goes, I think a 2 hour drive isn't too much to ask. And what about the people who would have to travel much farther than 2 hours if the location was DeKalb? I just don't recall a bunch of people here complaining about driving to ISU.
One thing I do know. As men age they think about long drives in a different way. One of the considerations is: how long do I go and where do I get off when I have to go pee pee? LOL!!
