Couple Whoa scores from last night

What’s the story in SHG??
They lost 19 starters from last year's state title team. New QB, RB, all new WR's, 10 new starters on defense. Made a lot of Week 1 mistakes last night and lost to a good 7A playoff team (SHG is a 4A school success factored to 5A). Expect to see a lot of improvement in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the info.

Not whoa scores but intriguing….

Leo over BishopMac 20-19. Great win for Leo and possibly another tough year in Kankakee.

Woodstock Marian hanging tough with Richmond Burton. Hope Marian is back to their standards. 41-29…Was a one score game for much of the game before RB pulled away.

good for Carmel. Last night Scorestream showed them losing 55-28, wonder how that happens.

Mac only has 4 seniors and like 8 juniors this year..

Good points, rocketnation. Don't know if it will be "a lot of improvement" as the season progresses, but not having to play Normal Community week in and week out will help. Given the fact that the Cyclones play the Rockets in week nine, SHG better find 5 wins in the next 7 weeks. I see only 2 games AT THIS POINT in which to list them as favorites. Unless and until they show more than they did Friday night, 5 of the 7 are toss-ups!!

Not surprised Griffin lost. Really surprised by the score.

Prairie Ridge 6 Jacobs 0

Morgan Park 42 Richards 0
Richards has not been the Richards of old the past few seasons. Morgan Park has major players. That didn’t shock me. MP beat them 30-2 last year

Week 3 will be a really good marker for both SHG and Jacksonville. The Crimsons stayed close for a half last season and had some success running the ball. Jacksonville does have to replace a 3-year starting QB, but get the game at home.

All.... Yes. More so for the Cyclones. I mentioned several months ago having extensively looked at SHG's schedule that the Jacksonville game was THE key game for them. A "foundation" game for the regular season. Ratsy

This game has TOSS-UP written all over it. What could change that perception would be a U-High win against the Cyclones this coming Friday. Then we'd be looking at J'ville being favored Oy vey! With not much quality pottery (at least not yet) in the SHG cupboard for the next few years, are we going to see the Cyclones join the yearly Crimson/McArthur battle to see who and who isn't going to make the postseason?

Regarding last season's game, I believe the Crimsons drove the ball for the ENTIRE 1st quarter if I remember correctly. Repeat that this year at Krauschaar-Rosenberger Field, and the Cyclones could very well make the bus ride home with another loss. A 1-2 record would put them in a precarious situation; 0-3 would have Don Meredith warming up the vocal cords!!!!

SCN has been one of the best 7A programs for several years now. I thought Palatine would win based on all the talk on the board, but not shocked by the outcome.
Ethan Plumb is a name that needs more attention. Quick release, good decision maker. Just a junior QB for SCN with Big 10 offers, handles a spread set very well. I think he'll be Top 5 player of the year conversation for sure next year.

Kid has a handful of Power 5 offers and several additional interest at the high D1 level....so this under the radar needs more attention stuff is well....just sorta silly.
