Class 6A East St Louis leads PR 50-7 start 4q

No matter what class they play in, no matter where they're players are from, no matter who they play non-conf, no matter "how" they go about their business winning a game, there will always be ESL haters on here. After what happened last year against C-G, this was a statement game for Coach Sunk and every player who played in that game. We all know and approve of certain programs who play with a chip on their shoulder, but whenever the Flyers do it, all of a sudden it's unsportsmanlike. So, stick to the way your team goes about its business and let ESL handle theirs. Don't argue with their success and they won't argue with yours. Congrats Flyers on #10. All Gas No Brakes 🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷

Let us know when rec league sign ups are, because thats what it seems you prefer. (Aside from the fact your claim against esl simply isnt true)

Its amazing how some people can watch esl play one of their best games all year, dominate for a state title, and still find something to complain about.
What claim is that?

I guess you are referring to me, McEvergreen? Not a ESL hater. Didn't watch the game last year. Don't think that playing with a chip on your shoulder is unsportsmanlike. Am not arguing with their success. Just didn't agree with the coaches decision to not substitute in at the end of the game with a big lead. That's my opinion, this is a message board. We share our opinions here. Why are you and several ESL posters so opposed to clearing the bench at the end of the game?

All the guys on the field were starters, both sides when you were up 50-7. I paused and noted the numbers. Thought it was classless, but that's my opinion. Not bashing ESL, but questioning the coaches decision. And no I don't have a problem with the losing team not pulling their starters when they're behind by 48 points.
When PR Finally Pulled Their QB7, Sunk Called The Dogs Off!! Everyone Rode East Side For The Upset Last Year, But This Year We Are Classless For Not Pulling The Starters In A BlowOut This Year??? Make It Make Sense, If We’re Running The Ball, You’re Defense Should Stop It. Shoe On The Other Foot Tyler Vasey Would Still Be Running That Option Down East Side Throat. Quit Hating

I will try to screenshot it, and if I'm wrong I will take back my comment and apologize.
You dont have to screen shot it. I was at the game. Antwon hayden may not have had a carry all year and he ran the last td. Hes probably not even on the rb depth chart.

To add to that, esl rb2 didnt play. Rb3 (the backup last week) didnt play. #5 was out so the 2nd string lb started. Bond caught a pass late who rarely gets targets. They dont have a real backup qb.

Im shocked you have a problem with esl playing guys but not PR leaving Vasey in who was clearly injured.

Really surprised that ESL, leading 50-7 in the 4th quarter, choses to leave their starters in on offense and defense and run up the score. Real classy move. Why not let your 2nd string get in a few snaps in the title game? They work hard in practice too. Hard to root for teams that do this.
So it bothered you that one team still had starters in, but didn't bother you that the other coach had his in to pad the stats of a kid he almost got killed by having him on kickoff return in addition to QB? Let me guess one coach was showing loyalty to his kids while the other was not showing class.... Trust me, 1. There were substitutions made, and 2. The 2nd string guys got plenty of reps this season and will be motivated to work hard in the off-season so they can be that starter you're not rooting for because they're still on the field in a championship game. Just do me a favor and revisit the thought of classless vs being loyal to your kids.

I can't wait for 1-32 no North team will be in finals again in 6a.
Lemont and Crete had to play them back to back years .
I think that was the biggest margin in state history .
Care to place a wager your prediction?
No question that PR was overmatched, but to dis all the great programs in the north is pure hyperbole.

Probably the same guy last year saying Lemont would have beat CG if they were in the north.

As someone that follows PR closer than most of you ESL fans, I have no problem with how the game was substituted at the end. PR is notorious for having starters in at the end of blow outs, so they have no room to complain about it. The ESL coach subbed when it was appropriate .

Ok crusader I stand corrected but it’s same difference. agree weak sauce! LMAO
Dang so Lemont and Cg have been the only 6a teams able to compete with east saint Louis in that past couple of years well and pr too if u count 2019

FYI in the last 14 years that had a full schedule 10 of the champions were from the north bracket and 4 from the south bracket. How is it again that the north bracket will never have a team in the championship again? It seems they’ve been doing pretty well of late!

Check your statistics!

I think his comment is an overreaction to a one off in the brackets. The top 3 and 4 of the top 5 6a teams were in the south bracket (esl, lemont, crete and simeon) both the lemont and crete games were a closer margin than PR
